Parsons Corporation Software System Test Engineer in Picatinny, New Jersey

Parsons seeks a software system Test Engineer , preferably with experience working on U.S. Army systems. This is a great opportunity to join an established team dedicated to providing mission-critical capabilities to the warfighter. The candidate will support quality assurance efforts on the Army's next generation Common Operating Environment (COE) Command Post Computing Environment (CPCE) system. Rapid turnaround of improvements based on user feedback and continued performance enhancements requires a motivated and focused individual. The candidate is expected to have a keen understanding of web applications and test engineering techniques, and is expected to engage in regular test efforts to ensure a quality product. Additionally, the candidate will interface daily with developers, subject matter experts, and lab technicians in order to design, develop, and execute test procedures at the onsite lab at Picatinny, NJ.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct verification and validation testing, to include integration, regression, performance, and formal (e.g. System Subsystem Acceptance Test)

  • Support the development of test plans and test reports

  • Feedback loop as testers and developers operate within DI2E environment

  • Troubleshooting-focused testing (vice Pass/Fail testing)

  • Participation in all technical reviews, including: IPR, PDR, and CDR

  • Daily meeting attendance to report status, progress, and blockers

  • Weekly roll-up reports to project leadership

Qualifications:

  • U.S. citizenship required

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer sciences, or mathematics from an accredited institution

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance

  • 1+ years of relevant experience

  • Experience working in an Agile development environment

  • Working knowledge of Configuration Management (CM) best practices

  • Working Knowledge of the development lifecycle from requirements to production

Preferred/Desired Skills:

  • Experience using Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Jenkins, etc.)

  • Test automation experience (such as: Selenium, Cucumber, etc.)

  • Experience using the DOORS requirements system

  • Experience with CM suites such as HP Quality Center

  • vSphere and VMWare Administration

  • Microsoft Windows Server Administration

  • CS11-12 Systems (e.g. AFATDS, AMDWS, DCGS-A, CPOF)

Must be able to obtain, maintain and/or currently possess a security clearance.
