Job Description:

Parsons seeks a UAV Robotics Engineer to join an integrated team of experts at Picatinny Arsenal, NJ responsible for software development on a next generation system being developed for the U.S. Army. The system is designed to deploy swarms of drones for reconnaissance missions, providing the warfighter with greatly improved situational awareness. The candidate must be an experienced go-getter with strong analytical and problem solving skills that thrives in a fast-paced, innovative environment. Must be a team player, with daily interaction with other team members remote and onsite. Work will be performed on location an average of two days per week. Primary responsibilities include collaborating with other engineers to design, develop, and test the prototype system. Strong verbal and written skills are essential.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field

  • 5+ years of experience in software engineering

  • 1+ years of on-the-job experience developing UAV guidance, navigation, and control algorithms

  • Expertise in Python development

Preferred/Desired Skills:

  • Robotics experience, specifically with the Robot Operating System (ROS)

  • Experience developing or using UAS Ground Control Stations (GCS)

  • An advanced understanding of AI/ML concepts and algorithms

  • Hobby or experienced UAV pilot; FAA Part 107 certification

  • Experience working in an Agile software development environment

  • Experience with MATLAB

  • Embedded development experience on Raspberry Pi or similar platform

  • Prior DoD experience is a plus

Must be a U.S. Citizen and hold, or be able to obtain, a Secret security clearance.
