POSITION OVERVIEW :
Provides management and direction for systems integration and testing within the Rail Transit Group. The Systems Test Manager provides general engineering expertise and shall be the technical leader responsible for coordinating and overseeing all system integration and testing for the Positive Train Control Program. The Systems Test Manager shall have sufficient experience in systems engineering related development and acceptance testing. This position will report to the Project Manager. Areas of expertise shall include configuration management, requirements analysis, systems analysis, reliability and availability analysis including integration of rail operations control systems.
Responsible for ensuring the integration and interface coordination within the systems Project subsystems and with the other project designs.
Responsible for ensuring all system requirements are adequately tested.
Interfaces with the Contractor’s Test lead and coordinates test activities with various departments in the railroad. Obtains necessary permissions and protection to allow the test activities to progress.
Requires knowledge and experience in systems integration and validation testing for Positive Train Control rail projects.
This is a system level position and requires a detailed understanding of large scale system integration of electronic systems with hardware, software, network, and data subsystems in conjunction with subject matter knowledge of rail technology.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science and/or information systems degree preferred.
Minimum of 5 years experience in PTC systems Integration and validation.
Systems engineering experience in the rail industry preferred.
Ideally, the individual should also have direct working knowledge of Rail transit signaling systems and subsystems such as ATO, ATP, ATS and ATC
Must have considerable experience with Communication based systems (Positive Train Control) and managing and configuring test environments for such systems.
Knowledge of railroading, signaling, communications, and other railroad technology is required.
