Primary duties and responsibilities:

  • Provide direct and hands-on support to the Operations Center (OC) in regards to operational systems and platforms;

  • Function as an interface between the OC and test group, as needed, to provide operational assistance, system and software testing and guidance;

  • Perform independent testing, in some instances, in a quick reaction environment (less than 24 hours) based on small windows of operational opportunity

  • Facilitate meetings to review results of the independent testing and report all pertinent test results to appropriate Program Manager designated personnel

  • Provide to the client adequate levels of testing to include test reports/plans, and summarized results by adhering to existing policies.

  • Triage system state errors identified by OC technicians, provide initial support to OC technicians, document issues, and report conditions to client PM and development PMs

  • Develop a deep understanding of the OC’s processes, procedures, and operational software applications and platforms;

  • Develop a deep understanding of the test processes and procedures;

  • As needed, define the appropriate test methodologies for each tool and create a test plan based on the software developer’s test report;

Other duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Reviewing System/Application/Software Requirements;

  • Reviewing System Designs, Concepts of Operations, detailed design documents and other development documents;

  • Reviewing Technical Specifications

  • Performing gap analyses to confirm that the test plans address all requirements of the tools;

  • Provide technical writing and briefing support as required including assistance with Technical Review/Editing and formatting of User’s Guides, Test Plans, Standard Operating Procedures, etc;

  • Help to identify, resolve, and document problems to assure successful and timely completion;

  • Perform regression testing on delivered tools when incremental bug fixes are provided by the software developer based on “show-stopper” problems.

  • Plan, conduct and/or participate in studies, tests, evaluations and reviews of new and existing systems;

  • Support review of standards and specifications, and operational concept documents and the subsequent processing of these documents as required;

  • Research, define, and provide documentation for implementation of Independent and Field Test Programs for deployed software tools;

  • Provide planning and process engineering support;

  • Evaluate, customize, and document automated test capabilities provided by the software developer;

  • Advise and assist the client Program Manager on matters pertaining to assigned projects, and

  • Conduct and/or witness testing.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Relevant Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and practical experience

  • Five (5+) or more years experience in a hardware or software testing capacity.

  • Five (5+) or more years experience creating and executing test plans, test procedures and test reports.

  • In-depth understanding of TCP/IP networking protocols.

  • In-depth knowledge of Windows, Linux, and Macintosh operating systems

  • Experience using VMWare products such as WorkStation, Fusion, ESX and ESXi.

  • Experience using enterprise-wide automated test system in conjunction with customized test scripts.

  • Experience in executing and creating scripts using Windows Batch, Windows Powershell, Perl and Python.

  • Experience troubleshooting multiple platform environments

  • Must possess a government clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Oracle or MySQL Database.

  • Knowledge of C, C#, PHP or JavaScript programming language

  • Experience with Java Message Service(JMS) API

  • Experience working in an Independent Verification and Validation capacity

  • Experience in CNE environments

  • Experience in mobile device application development (iOS and/or Android)
