Ready to tackle modern design and construction challenges? Are you great with people and have a track record for assessing work on major construction projects? Put your construction inspection expertise to work on complex, Aviation projects. Parsons is now hiring an air field electrical inspector with a desire to work on creating innovative, practical solutions to various aviation projects at a major International Airport in the research triangle area of North Carolina.

In this role, you will perform inspection tasks in the field as a electrical inspector, you will be expected to perform field inspection efforts for numerous small and large aviation and aviation related projects, ultimately enforcing client and contract requirements. We need our inspectors to be versatile, enthusiastic to work in highly flexible, team-oriented environments, and have a strong safety and quality focus.

In this role, you will provide field inspection for the following construction projects:

Taxiway and Runway Rehabilitation and Preservation

Responsibilities Include:

Conducts inspections to determine if work has been done in accordance with contract documents, this may include any of the following:

Participate in verifying progress payments.

Attend Schedule, Progress and Safety Meetings (weekly).

Prepare personally, Daily Inspection Reports (DIRs).

Work closely with project managers, client, field staff – office engineer(s) and admin/clerks.

Monitor and ensure the correction of non-conforming work.

Assist in the timely closeout of construction contracts.

REQUIREMENTS:

10 years’ experience in the construction industry with a minimum of 2 years of aviation related inspection of construction work in the field with primary emphasis in airfield lighting, airfield signage, airfield power distribution and airfield lighting control systems. Knowledge of terminal electrical construction a plus.

Must have previous field experience on an Aviation project, and are familiar with typical procedures used in an Aviation construction.

Knowledge of Safety Plans, QA/QC Plans and Project Procedures Manuals.

Limited knowledge of computer based program management software

Safety Training (minimum OSHA 10 Hour)

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES :

Must be able to read and interpret plans and specifications and be thoroughly familiar with construction-related processes related to the area of assignment. Knowledge of English grammar and composition, the ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing; to follow oral and written instructions, prepare written messages and simple charts and graphs. Ability to comply with multitude of requirements as applicable to the project based on client and industry standards. Must have thorough understanding of scheduling, and the ability to review progress pay estimates and extra work bills. Must be able to recognize hazardous work conditions and take action if necessary. Ability to use good judgment and work with others is required. Requires ability to climb ladders, inspect work above ground, and work in confined spaces
