Parsons is now hiring an experienced Educational Planner with a desire to work on creating innovative, practical solutions to various K-12 facility assessment and planning projects. In this role you will be responsible for performing project initiation and data review, educational review and programmatic priorities, educational adequacy assessments, developing standards for ranking building needs, preparing and presenting facility master plans, and public engagement. Parsons extensive experience in this field, combined with your experience coordinating K-12 educational facility assessment and planning projects through all phases of project inception, execution, and closeout, will enhance the outcomes and solutions we offer our K-12 clients. We need our Educational Planners to be versatile, enthusiastic to work in highly flexible, team oriented environments that have exceptional communication, analytical and organizational skills.

This position is a Casual opportunity or on an as needed basis.

Responsibilities:

Participate in virtual, online meetings and work sessions with school district clients.

Gather, review, and interpret data, such as standards, goals, objectives and programmatic priorities, that will inform the development of a facilities master plan.

Review existing data with district staff.

Review existing data relative to current and planned program opportunities.

Create tools (e.g., adequacy guide, IT guide) for site evaluators to use when evaluating facilities and sites.

Develop standards for ranking or prioritizing facility needs.

Train site evaluators prior to site visits and help guide them through the process.

Review data collected by site evaluators and included in adequacy assessment reports and school capacity reports.

Identify patterns and issues in site evaluator data.

Gather and compare data for use in developing long-range plans.

Support use of all data (e.g., adequacy, condition, capacity and utilization) to create long-range facility master plan.

Support the development of draft and final deliverables, and project-related documents.

Support public engagement activities (e.g., prepare presentation materials).

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in education-related field

10+ years of related educational instruction and/or administration experience is required, with 10+ years of educational facility assessment and planning experience on related projects

Incumbent should have a broad general technical and business background.

Must have the ability to manage projects, interface with clients and enjoy being hands on technically in the project.

Our Project Managers still get very involved in the development of deliverables on the project.

Comprehensive knowledge of industry standards.

Proven ability to perform in a management capacity, excellent written and oral communications.
