Parsons is seeking a Field Engineering Technician to support a large DoD maintenance contract for electronic security and other network based communications and surveillance systems. The ideal candidate will be able to follow written maintenance procedures, document results, troubleshoot equipment failures, coordinate with customer representatives, manage time to accomplish required tasks, and maintain professional communication habits, and will also be familiar using a tablet or computer to access system and trouble ticket records and enter data.
Experience or certification in one or more of the following is preferred:
Access Control Systems - Lenel, Vindicator, AMAG
Video Management/Surveillance Systems - Milestone, Bosch, Axis, Pelco
Intrusion Detection Systems - DMP
Network switches and copper / fiberoptic infrastructure and connectors
Mass Notification / PA systems - Federal Signal
Automated Vehicle Gates/Barriers, Pedestrian gates / turnstiles
Land Mobile Radio
Operations / Dispatch Centers
Video Walls or other A/V equipment
Physical Security Information Management (PSIM)
Other potential responsibilities:
Assembles, maintains, and troubleshoots moderately complex equipment or parts; services or repairs instruments or equipment.
Sets up experiments and/or tests; checks out and calibrates equipment prior to experimentation and data acquisition.
Prepares test specimens, conducts tests and experiments which may require minor modifications in setups or procedures.
Adjusts and operates equipment and records test data, pointing out deviations resulting from malfunctions or observational errors. May recommend design modifications by compiling data related to designs, specifications, and materials.
Participates in discussions with technical and engineering personnel, reviewing development issues reported to assist in resolving issues.
Prepares documentation and reports.
Manages assigned inventory of spares, tools, and other equipment.
Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
Associate's Degree in Engineering Technology or related field (or equivalent related training/certification if applicable) and typically 2+ years experience.
Requires proficiency in applying moderately complex engineering methods, as well as tasks and testing techniques related to operational processes.
