Qualifications and Requirements:
BSc Degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering or Law and have a minimum of 15 years' experience in the Construction Industry.
Professional Membership such as RICS, and training in construction Contract Law would be an advantage.
Proven record of administering Contracts independently.
Proven claims background.
General Description of Role & Responsibilities:
Ensuring that the requirements of the Contract Documents are implemented throughout the Contract period.
Review of contractual notices of claims and providing contractual and commercial advice to the Project delivery teams where appropriate.
Interaction with the relevant Contractors, Consultants and Employer, advising as required, in respect of all contractual matters.
Review all contract documents to ensure congruity and to minimize patent and latent ambiguities.
Administration of on-going Contracts, including monitoring Commercial, Contract and commission compliance with the Contract documents.
Prepare correspondence and maintain records necessary to ensure the effective administration of all Contractual matters.
Preparation of Contract change and Variation Orders and review and evaluation of Contractor submissions.
Facilitate the contract close-out procedures to ensure that all terms and conditions of contracts have been complied with prior to final payment to Contractor/Consultant.
Ensure that all contractual and commercial procedures are implemented and maintained.
Administer and advice the client and project team on all contractual and commercial matters.
Review of Contractor's/Consultant's claims. in accordance with the provisions of the Conditions of Contract and review of costs to ensure the Employer's interests are protected.
Ensure all warranties, bonds, insurances, guarantees, etc. are in place and maintained and updated in accordance with the Contract and are in compliance with the Employer's requirements.
Preparation of Monthly Progress and any ad-hoc Reports as required by the Employer or his Assistant.
Responsible for the preparation and maintenance of Engineer's Instructions, Variation Orders and Claims Logs.
Work independently in the administration of all contractual matters.
Administer all Commercial aspects of the Contract.
