  • Verify the designers have undertaken adequate analysis of the water paths etc. during floods in the particular area

  • Assess the designers review of the effect of environmental changes on water flow

  • Review the designers plans and responses to specific weather conditions, such as droughts and floods, and assess the impacts of such events on water catchments and supplies

  • Review the designer's hydrological modelling to allow the development of flood forecasting and drought management strategy

  • Review the designer's assessment of the relationship between rainfall, run off, and soil and rock features for the catchment.

  • Verify the designer's assessment of the factors affecting acidity, nitrate levels or other diffuse pollution of surface water.

  • Liaise with specialists, consultants and SAR

  • Oversee and review the collection, processing and evaluation of data for flood management

  • Verify the designers have applied appropriate hydrological and statistical techniques to water resource modelling and analysis

  • Interface with the team to verify the anti-flooding measures are adequate to address the flooding issue

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (or related field) and 10+ years of related work experience on mega projects as Hydrologist.

  • Excellent technical writing skills in the English language.

  • Capable of producing high quality documents in terms of grammar, composition, formatting, layout, spelling and organization.

  • Detail-oriented and thorough, with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Capable of working independently to research, analyze and accurately solve technical problems.

  • Experience working within multi-disciplinary teams to provide technical environmental input.
