OVERVIEW

Determines aesthetic design and practical technical solutions for the planning of external spaces including hardscapes, softscapes, Streetscapes etc. Works would cover urban planning, commercial buildings and spaces, residential projects, Industrial sites, Public open spaces and parks, Resorts, Hotels and leisure facilities etc.

Proficiency in providing complex technical solutions and preparing full technical packages from concept design, through Design development, Final Design to Tender and Contract documentation in coordination with Senior Team members.

Construction packages would include construction details for all built forms within the external works packages to be designed in coordination with the relevant engineers before contract documentation.

Hardscape detailing would include the design and specification of all external finishes, level changes, walls, minor structures, drainage, water features etc.

Softscape detailing would include the design and specification of all plant materials, planting medium, preparation of the site, contours & grading and control of all horticultural practices for installation works.

LANDSCAPE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Integrate different landscape teams and develop a centralized landscape group for Parsons.

  • Assess technical/discipline approaches and provide recommendations for improvement.

  • Assist with process improvements.

  • Provide executive sponsorship of key projects.

  • Assist with driving project execution for specified landscape projects.

  • Oversee critical project issues as needed.

  • Provide ad hoc support to projects/programs as needed.

CONSTRUCTION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversees establishment of Project Execution Plan, Health and Safety Plan, Quality Assurance/Quality Control Plan, and other documents as required.

  • Establishes the program requirements for all areas of the project, and monitors the draft and final deliverables for adherence to these criteria.

  • Plans, directs, supervises, and controls the execution of all business, technical, fiscal, and administrative functions of the assigned project.

  • Assigns responsibility for executing project plans to key subordinates after careful assessment of how to utilize their qualifications and strengths. Provides input to performance reviews and development plans for subordinates.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATION:

  • Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture or any construction-related field from a recognized western university

  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in the landscape field showing increasing levels of responsibility

  • Experience managing landscape groups for established Architecture/Engineering firms or the developer side

  • Experience dealing with UAE based municipalities and developers

  • Proven leadership and delivery ability

  • Knowledge of LEED and ESTIDAMA principles, certification preferred

  • Excellent English verbal and writing skills
