Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Environmental and Sustainability Manager to join our team! In this role you will get to ensure compliance with Government, Client and Parsons requirements regarding sustainability and environmental protection and improvement. leading and manage the Sustainability and Environmental Function across the Qiddiya Program. Acting as the technical lead and authority for the Parsons delivery organization

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Develop and deploy strategy.

  • Provide oversight of project level risks.

  • Work in partnership with the client and stakeholders.

  • Represent Parsons and the Client as required.

  • Take requirements, turn them into deliverables, ensure the required activity is delivered and assure that actions have been embedded.

  • Support/implement a range of E&S program activities in Delivery (including Development/Design) / Permitting / Construction.

  • Implement E&S input into contract formation, procurement, tendering, award and implementation, e.g. write E&S sections of RFPs / define Employer Requirements, define tender review criteria, respond to RFIs, complete tender evaluations - for all types of E&S specialist consultants (e.g. EIA), and project wide general design consultants and D&B Contractors.

  • Provide project management of EIA consultants – to ensure the correct permits are obtained to support construction delivery. Input into meetings with NCEC / regulators for all EIA discussions / agreements on EIA development, progress tracking etc.

  • Implement an E&S design review process / system whereby at every design gate, there is an E&S hold point for a check of relevant content (Sustainability content yet to be defined). Ensure appropriate level of environment & sustainability matters are integrated into the overall design process – different work packages will have different requirements.

  • Understand client strategy, objectives, and tactical requirements and how these inform the focus of business activity.

  • Review and manage the delivery of the client’s monthly management information report including environmental, waste and sustainability performance.

  • Develop supplier relationship to manage delivery of environmental and sustainability improvements and report on progress made.

  • Monitor emerging sustainability related legal compliance as well as Government and industry best practice.

  • Applying knowledge and driving best practice to meet sustainable standards.

  • Manages contractors and wider supply chain, relating to environmental and sustainability performance and improvements.

  • Championing campaigns to promote engagement in program sustainability/environmental awareness campaigns.

  • Assist the client with developing and implementing a sustainability strategy.

  • Advise the Program Exec Team of potential business risks associated with emerging legislation and recommend solutions.

  • Consult with subject matter experts to utilizes the most up to date guidance and codes of practice and communicate clearly and appropriately to staff throughout Parsons.

  • Be the go-to person for guidance on all the latest trends, and as such will be expected to dedicate time to research and monitor announcements from key industry bodies, institutions, and networks to stay ahead of the curve.

  • Deliver presentations and training.

  • Drive continues improvement and positive change.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Broad experience of delivering environment and sustainability (E&S) management programs on large design/construction projects (preferably Middle East experience in any Contractor, Program Management Consultant or Client role). Demonstrable ability to bring to life strategic business objectives with action and follow up.

  • Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent qualification) in environmental science, environmental health, environmental law, environmental engineering and/or sustainability.

  • Professional membership of relevant institution (e.g. IEMA, CIWM, CIBSE). Good understanding of legislative requirements, including SECR, ESOS, European Performance of Buildings Directive (EPCs/DECs/TM44 air conditioning inspections), MEES, Waste Management. Experience of Environmental Management Systems (ISO 14001). CIBSE Low Carbon Consultant or Assessor.

  • LEED or BREEAM assessor. Financial business case development (MACC, OPEX, CAPEX, NPV). Experience of working with or for a construction client, contractor, or consultancy. Experience of working on a mega construction project.

  • This role will require a detail-oriented people person with a passion for sustainability and environmental protection, exceptional communications skills, that is comfortable navigating a large-scale, complex business.
