Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Landscape Design Manager for the King Salman Park project in Riyadh.

King Salman Park (KSP) is an ambitious 1,600-hectare large-scale public park and urban district in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Unveiled in 2019, it is one of the city’s four mega projects launched by King Salman Bin Abdulaziz, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques. The park aims to enhance the quality of life for residents and visitors by providing a variety of sports, cultural, artistic, and recreational options.

Spanning over 16 square kilometres, it is the largest urban park in the world. With more than one million trees, vast green spaces, and facilities like the Royal Arts Complex, National Theater, and a 7.2 km pedestrian walkway, King Salman Park is set to transform Riyadh’s landscape and contribute to a vibrant and healthy society in alignment with Saudi Vision 2030 goals.

SA Parsons is appointed as the Programme Manager for KSP, answering directly to the client, the King Salman Park Foundation. As the PMO, Parsons oversees multiple related projects that achieve a larger organizational objective: the entire King Salman Park delivery. As the PMO, we are responsible for aligning projects with the client’s strategy, managing dependencies between projects, and ensuring that the overall programme objectives are met.

Parsons is seeking a highly experienced Senior Design Manager to join our team. In this role, you will oversee and guide the PMO’s Landscape Design Management team, composed of two Design Managers, to ensure the successful design management of all King Salman Park project assets.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Oversee the design management process for all King Salman Park assets, ensuring project objectives are met while maintaining quality standards, legal codes, design guidelines, budget, and schedule.

  • Review and approve design submissions, ensuring they meet contract deliverables and providing feedback for improvement.

  • Monitor consultant performance, recommending corrective actions or improvements to ensure timely, high-quality, and cost-effective delivery.

  • Guide the technical design process through various stages, including design works, technical services, surveys, studies, site investigations, reports, and statutory approvals.

  • Supervise and mentor the Landscape Design Management Team

  • Develop and implement reporting and management strategies to optimize design processes and workflows.

  • Conduct necessary analysis and work with the team to resolve delivery, design, and strategic issues.

  • Define and incorporate facility and operational management needs into the design.

  • Review and provide feedback on designs for compliance with client requirements, design standards, specifications, sustainability standards, and other guidelines.

  • Collaborate with the client, consultants, and contractors to ensure seamless project delivery.

  • Organize and lead design coordination meetings, workshops, and presentations as needed. Integrate client requirements into design briefs, managing stakeholder engagement throughout the design process.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture or a related field.

  • Minimum 12 years of experience in landscape architecture and design management, focusing on large-scale projects.

  • Strong leadership and mentoring abilities, with experience managing and guiding junior team members.

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

  • Knowledge of landscape design principles, construction techniques, and materials.

  • Ability to read and interpret design documents, construction plans, and technical specifications.

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD, Revit and MS Office

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

  • Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture or a related field.

  • Experience in the Middle East region, particularly in Saudi Arabia.

  • Familiarity with local regulations, building codes, and construction practices in Saudi Arabia.

  • Experience working on high-profile, large-scale projects with diverse stakeholders.

  • Professional certification in Landscape Architecture or design management.
