creating building designs and highlydetailed drawings both by hand and by using specialist computer-aideddesign (CAD) applications
liaising with constructionprofessionals about the feasibility of potential projects
working around constraining factorssuch as town planning legislation, environmental impact,andproject budget
working closely with a team of otherprofessionals such as building service engineers, construction managers,quantity surveyors and architectural technologists
applying for planning permission andadvice from thegovernmentalnewbuild and legal departments
writing and presenting reports,proposals, applications,andcontracts
specifying the requirements for theproject
adapting plans according tocircumstances and resolving any problems that may arise duringconstruction
playing a part in theprojectand team management
traveling regularly tobuilding sites, proposed locations and client meetings
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in architecture or interior design (or equivalent) with 8 years of relevant experience or master's degree and 5 years of experience as an architectural or interior design co-op student.
Knowledge of architectural and/or interior design standards, practices, and techniques, as well as a demonstrated proficiency in sketching, rendering, model-building, and presentation drawing.
Revit experience highly desired, as well as proficiency in CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with architectural and interior design.
