The GIS Manager will support the Qiddiya project (a multi-billion dollar entertainment city focusing on sports, theme parks, animal kingdom, arenas, shopping malls, 5-star hotels, etc.) in Riyadh, KSA

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Support solutions for a new city that utilize GIS centric data models to locate utilities, buildings, and other geospatial features.

  • Assist with general GIS data management and production tasks as needed on projects

  • Participate in design, development and creation of databases, maps, reports and other deliverables

  • Support data entry, processing, digitizing, research, records management, and upkeep of metadata

  • Utilize Python, Model Builder, SQL and other commonly used scripting tools to automate workflows and streamline routine processes and tasks

  • Maintain quality assurance of spatial and non-spatial data and processes as per defined standards

  • Maintain expertise in existing and emerging GIS asset management related software and technologies

MinimumRequirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in GIS, Computer Science, Geography, Social Science, Environmental Science, Engineering, or similar

  • 20+ years of overall experience with 15+ years of relevant professional and progressively responsible experience in GIS and visual implementation, administration and support

  • Proficiency with the ESRI suite of desktop mapping and analysis tools and extensions

  • Relational database knowledge (EQuIS, MS Access, SQL Server, Oracle)

  • Basic knowledge of GPS mobile field data collection techniques, equipment and electronic forms

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and communications with clients, staff , project consultants, and sub-contractors

  • Ability to organize work, establish priorities, meet deadlines, and follow-up on assignments with minimal direction

  • Strong attention to detail with proactive and resourceful problem-solving skills

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

  • Proficient in technical writing

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with or demonstrated working knowledge of asset management concepts and software (Azteca Cityworks or similar application technologies)

  • 10+ years of relevant professional and progressively responsible experience in asset management systems implementation, administration and support

  • Familiarity with or working knowledge of data analytics (management and processing of Big Data)

  • Working knowledge of multi-user virtualized environments (ex. CITRIX)

  • Working knowledge of municipal maintenance workflows, data structures and reporting GISP and/or ESRI Technical Certification

  • Programming development experience
