The Communications Security (COMSEC) Logistics Specialist is responsible for managing warehouse operations that include accounting, storing, and safeguarding cryptographic equipment. Activities will include monitoring in-transit COMSEC material and initiate tracer actions as needed, conduct semiannual warehouse equipment/ancillaries inventory, maintain equipment data base information and developing accurate and timely metrics.
Store, protect, and ship COMSEC material maintained in the COMSEC Depot warehouse.
Consolidate and analyze COMSEC equipment requirements utilizing both input and historical data to create COMSEC requirements
Recommend minimum stock level of COMSEC equipment ancillaries including but not limited to; batteries, cables, software, and power supplies
Participate in technical interchanges and vendor briefs to understand future developments of COMSEC equipment and then analyze and project that into a recommendation on how to integrate into an equipment management and technology strategy
Utilize the Intermediary Application (iApp) database system to distribute COMSEC equipment for validated needs of users
Receive and distribute COMSEC equipment using iApp
Clearance Requirement: Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph
2+ years of relevant Information Assurance (IA) experience
COMSEC accountability experience
COMSEC experience and completion of the COMSEC Account Manager Course.
Must have working knowledge and current relevant experience with iApp and common COMSEC equipment.
Completed Key Management Infrastructure (KMI) training
Familiarity with Controlling Authority responsibilities, working knowledge of common COMSEC equipment types and be able to manage operational priorities in a dynamic environment.
Comfortability in mixed Military/Govt. civilian/Contractor work environment and interacting daily with DoD, and various COMSEC Accounts.
Must be able to obtain, maintain and/or currently possess a security clearance.
