In this role you will be working on site with the clientto provide management, and coordination for a portfolio of projects from initiation to closeout. You will be expected to ensure safe and compliant on-schedule completion of projects that stay within budget and in accordance with contractual and stakeholder obligations. Project Managers at this level manage a portfolio of projects and may assist in program goals and devise methods to accomplish them. You willdevelop an in-depth knowledge of client PM tools, objectives, contract terms, and corporate policies. Experience with SAP and P6 a plus along with a background in supporting capital improvement programs. Typical projects range from $500,000 to $20 million in total cost.
As a PM, your responsibilities will include:
Act as the Company representative with the client and selected internal staff and subcontractors from initiation to closeout. Negotiates changes to the scope of work with the client and key subcontractors and stakeholders. Responsible for following up on instructions and commitments associated with the project.May participate in negotiations with regulatory agencies and in public meetings in support of clients.
Oversees establishment of Project Execution Plan, Health and Safety Plan, Quality Assurance/Quality Control Plan, and other documents as required.
Plans, and supports the execution of all business, technical, fiscal, and administrative functions of the assigned projects. Assigns responsibility for executing project plans to key subordinates after careful assessment of how to utilize their qualifications and strengths.
Works with engineering, technical SMEs, field personnel and other stakeholders to develop budgets, schedules, forecasts and plans for the various elements of a project. Ensures that the project meets or exceeds established goals. Supports and develops less experienced staff in understanding goals and outcomes as well as technical project work.
Works with the key project individual to devise and execute actions plans to rectify potential cost overruns or delays, or to accommodate significant changes to the scope of work. Advises the client and company management of any such changes. The Project Manager is specifically responsible for change management.
Promotes technical and commercial excellence on the project through application of Quality Assurance processes. Monitors and reports to management on the progress of all project activity within the program, including significant milestones, variance of cost and schedule to baseline, forecasted costs and any conditions, which would affect project. Establishes weekly meeting to review project status and formulate action items.
Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
4-year degree in Engineering or related technical/business field
12+ years of related project managementexperience is required. PMexperience on Gas/Transmission and Distribution projects is required.
Incumbent should have a broad general technical and business background.
Professional registration may also be required.
Prefer candidates with SAP and P6 experience
Incumbent must meet Parsons' project management certification requirements. Proven ability to perform in a management capacity, excellent written and oral communications skills, and a thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations are also required. In addition, must be knowledgeable of current technology and how it can be effectively utilized on the project.
