In this position you’ll assist in data collection and field investigation efforts for transportation studies - including the configuration of devices to automatically complete these collections and the analysis associated with them. This position requires working knowledge of computer network testing (ping, telnet, running scripts) and a willingness to learn video analytic methods as related to traffic engineering concepts. The selected candidate will be expected to learn how to configure devices across large deployments and generate reports on their functionality as well as the data represented from the collection. The data collected will be used in an operational setting to provide real time information out to motorists. This role would be based in our office in Schaumburg, IL or travel to various client locations in Chicago area.

Configure devices to work on client networks
Analyze traffic data including but not limited to traffic volumes, speed and crashes
Set up video analytics as directed and be able to explain the results
Work as part of a team with designers and other multi-disciplined engineers.
Expected to meet tight deadlines and unexpected requirement changes.
4-year degree in Engineering (or related field)
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certificate is preferred
Internship experience is a plus
Experience using PC software
