Are you an experienced Communications Security (COMSEC) Manager /Systems Administrator looking for an opportunity to grow your skillset? Our team is looking for a COMSEC Manager/Systems Administrator to focus on the administration of a wide variety of technologies and environments at Schriever SFB in Colorado Springs, CO. The candidate will support multiple computer networks at various levels of security classification, providing the full range of support services required to manage the day-to-day operation and administration activities and end-to-end support including cryptographic devices. The candidate will be responsible for operating and managing all electronic key distribution hardware/software via Key Management Infrastructure (KMI). Daily activities will include performing all necessary backups, system updates, reconciliations, and inventories in accordance with applicable COMSEC instructions and providing technical advice while maintaining 100% accountability for COMSEC material.

You will have the opportunity to participate in real-world, cutting-edge Space Situational Awareness systems which are changing how the Space community is doing business.

Candidate must have strong troubleshooting and communication skills, along with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline and 6 years experience or Associates Degree /HS Diploma with 10 or more years of experience. 5+ years of relevant COMSEC experience.

  • Must have a strong understanding of COMSEC accountability as well as knowledge of the procedures required for the issue and receipt of COMSEC equipment and materials.

  • Must be familiar with COMSEC requirements and procedures to include the acquisition, maintenance, operations, and disposition of COMSEC equipment.

  • Familiarity with Controlling Authority responsibilities, working knowledge of common COMSEC equipment types and be able to manage operational priorities in a dynamic environment.

  • Comfortability in mixed Military/Govt. Civilian/Contractor work environment and interacting daily with DoD, and various COMSEC Accounts.

  • Ability to support and troubleshoot issues on common Operating Systems (Linux/Windows)

  • Knowledge and experience with VMware and virtualization

  • Experience with scripting languages such as Windows Powershell and Unix shell for troubleshooting and automation of routine tasks

  • Experience with system build processes and imaging; configuring and deploying systems in DoD environments across multiple classification levels

  • Experience maintaining multiple baseline environments and configuration management

  • Experience with access management and client account technical support (Windows Active Directory, DNS)

  • High level of self-motivation, ability to define, manage, and prioritize tasks in a team environment requiring minimal supervision.

  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, enjoy customer interactions

  • Ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment with changing priorities

  • Possess a high degree of originality, creativity, initiative, and willingness to learn new tools and concepts quickly

  • DoD 8570 Certification (Security+, CISSP, CCNA, etc.) or ability to obtain

  • Active Top Secret clearance, with SCI eligibility.

Desired Skills:

  • Knowledge and experience with Cloud Computing, Docker Containers, Amazon Web Services

  • Knowledge with installation and maintenance of backup and recovery solutions

  • Foundational understanding of networking concepts (Firewall, Routers)

  • Experience with installation and maintenance of databases and application servers

  • Experience with full DevOps toolchain (JIRA, Gitlab, Jenkins, Fortify, Artifactory, Docker)

  • Use enterprise automation tools (such as Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, etc.) to deploy and maintain complex environments

  • Experience with configuration management and software build processes

  • Experience with cybersecurity tools e.g. ACAS, SIEM, HBSS/ESS

  • Familiar with interpretation and application of Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)

  • Active TS/SCI Clearance

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

Normal office setting, therefore the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Work is generally sedentary in nature but may require standing and walking. Use of hands to configure and operate computer equipment. Frequent near vision use for reading and computer use. Frequently moves equipment weighing up to 30 pounds across facility.

Salary Range:

$96,400.00 - $168,700.00
