Job Description:

Senior / Principal Bridge Engineer – Transportation Infrastructure – Seattle

Opportunity :

Our Parsons Seattle office is seeking a Senior or Principal Bridge Engineer in our expanding Seattle Structural division. If you want to be part of a dynamic and innovative team working on large marquee projects both locally and nationally, this opportunity is for you. The successful candidate completes a wide variety of difficult engineering assignments, applying engineering techniques and analyses within one discipline. The Engineer at this level is a fully qualified professional, proficient in the utilization of most engineering theories and practices, and is able to coordinate with other disciplines toward a successful project outcome. This role will support WSDOT and other regional projects primarily, as well as national projects when needed. Hybrid remote work scenario allowed ( meaning working from home 2 days per week). Relocation assistance would be provided for out of state candidates .

Projects :

This exciting role will offer the possible opportunity to work with a broad variety of concrete and steel bridges structures such as Cantilever, Beam, Viaduct, and Girder bridges.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs complex engineering tasks and particularly important engineering work efficiently and accurately. Maintains a high level of organization and quality in their work.

May be assigned to a project or organizational team, or as a lead bridge/structural engineer on small to intermediate size projects.

Extracts engineering information from CAD drawings. Prepares engineering computations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, and designs.

Completes a variety of assignments such as drawings, specifications, and other materials suitable for procurement and construction purposes. Frequently interfaces with other Engineering disciplines as well as other departments.

Provides technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers, and lower-level Engineers working on the same project. Supervises plan production for entire projects of small scale and contributes to plan production of more complex projects. Proficient in non-standard detailing.

May be required to provide the seal and signature of the professional engineer, as appropriate, ensuring compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and ordinances.

May act in an advisory capacity to senior management personnel on engineering related matters.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE :

Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or related field) is required along with 8 years or more of bridge design experience for road and highway systems.

Professional Engineer ( PE) registration or ability to receive comity is required.

Structural Engineer ( SE) registration is highly desired.

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:

Proficiency in utilizing AutoCAD and/or Microstation and industry standard bridge design analysis software is required.

Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.

Understanding of seismic design principles is preferred.

Salary Range:

$83,300.00 - $168,700.00
