Parsons extensive experience in thisenvironmental investigation, remediation, and water resource projectscombined with yourscientific experience and engineering techniques will propel your career forward. We need our Scientists at this level to applyexperience and increasing proficiency in the use of technical theories, practices, and company policies.
In this role you will perform a variety of field and office tasks requiring the application of standard scientific principles,fundamental theories, and real world applications. Some assignments involve application of complicated computer software.Successful candidates can reside anywhere in the Northeast US and will both travel and work remotely.
Performs a variety of field and office tasks requiring the application of standard scientific principles and fundamental theories.
Develops 2-D, 3-D and 4-D analytical and/or numerical groundwater flow models, fate / transport models, and/or visualization models.
Understands and develops conceptual site models.
Organizes, conducts, and analyzes aquifer tests such as: long term constant rate tests, tracer tests, and slug tests.
May lead field teams by planning, organizing, and directing the work in the field under the supervision of the Project Manager.
Provides technical guidance to lower-level Scientists and Technicians.
May be required to write technical papersand present at technical conferences.
Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as is appropriate.
4-year degree in a curriculum related tothe assigned discipline(geology,environmental science, environmental engineering)
Graduate degree in hydrogeology, geochemistry, orgroundwater engineering is preferred
3-5 years of related work experience
Working knowledge of software packages typicallyassociated withthe hydrogeology andgroundwater modelingis required(for example: GIS, MODFLOW, FEFLOW, AQTESOLV, GroundwaterVistas, Visual Modflow, GMS, C-tech Studio, or equivalent).
A familiarity with environmental rules and regulationsis preferred.
