Job Description:

Parsons is searching for a Data Scientist (Senior) to support the Predictive Analytics pod of the Analytic Technologies Office at NGA. This Senior candidate should have leadership qualities, be able to work in a fast-paced environment and have great problem-solving skills.

Are you ready to join our ever-growing team in the Intelligence Community (IC)? The Data Scientist is expected to engage with GEOINT users, stakeholders, and solution providers to build partnerships, collaborate, and support transition, transfer, and protection of new technologies for GEOINT and related partner needs and requirements (including the NSG, ASG, IC, and DoD partners).

Role and Responsibilities:

The Predictive Analytics pod develops advanced quantitative models and analytic methodologies to anticipate potential threats, improve targeting of geospatial data collection, and enable automated identification of emerging issues and events. Predictive Analytics also develops software and hardware tools to assist intelligence analysts. Your role and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide technical support and knowledge in these areas:

  • Human Geography

  • Machine learning,

  • Statistical modeling

  • Numerical optimization

  • Photogrammetry

  • Remote sensing

  • Image registration

  • For both national assets and commercial contractors, apply knowledge on how the imagery acquisition process currently functions within and outside of our customer.

  • Using state of the art and novel approaches in Machine Learning give technical support to the Government.

  • Provide the Government with a technical assessment of optimization algorithms

Required skills:

  • Experience developing algorithms based on machine learning, data mining, statistical, and graph-based analysis to make sense of data sets.

  • The ability to test and down-select algorithms for models fit

  • The ability to bypass training/example data sets when they are unavailable and develop your own experiments to generate data.

  • Ability to work with SMEs to translate manual data analysis into automated analytics and with developers for proper algorithm implementation

Education:

Degree must be in Mathematics/Statistics or Computer Science and Domain Expertise/Analysis

AND

  • MS/MS degree and 13+ years of experience.

OR

  • BA/BS in degree and 15+ years of experience.

Clearance: Candidate must possess a current TS/SCI w/ poly

Please note some travel is required.

Salary Range:

$47.50 - $83.13
