Job Description:

Senior/ Principal Roadway Engineers – Infrastructure – St. Louis

Opportunity :

Parsons Corporation has an immediate opening for experienced Senior/ Principal Civil Roadway & Highway Engineers . This role is for supporting design engineering of various Missouri DOT projects , as well as other regional opportunities.

The selected Engineers will have road and highway design and engineering experience with interstate roadway projects. Project design experience with the Missouri DOT is desirable. Experience and a strong understanding of any state DOT policies, procedures and guidelines is also a plus.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • The selected Engineers must also have strong communication skills.

  • This hire may manage a subtask of a smaller project or study in accordance with contractual obligations.

  • Responsible for the technical excellence of the engineering functions of the project including coordination of technical disciplines and development of project alternatives, and preliminary and final design.

  • Design horizontal and vertical roadway alignments, and super elevation diagrams.

  • Design of ramps, interchanges, and road apertures

  • Perform quantity calculations project estimates.

  • Managing Associate Engineers in completing project deliverables.

  • Develop details to construction, detour, signing and marking, as well as erosion control drawings.

  • Coordinate with project team and interdisciplinary technical personnel.

  • Assists the project manager in completing the project deliverables.

  • Ensures project is adhering to client criteria and scope.

  • Assist in preparing technical reports and documentation of activity for the client and project management.

  • Assist in obtaining, analyzing, and circulating technical and contractual information to project disciplines.

  • May be responsible for the scope development, scope management and commercial performance of projects to meet project goals and objectives.

  • Assist functional managers to identify company resources, through liaison with support departments, other offices, or subsidiaries, to create project teams capable of completing effective, quality work.

  • Assists in identifying new project pursuits, gathers intelligence regarding these pursuits, participates in Parsons’ pursuit process, and may lead response to client requests for proposals/qualifications.

Requirements :

  • A 4-year degree in Civil Engineering (or related field) and 8 years or more of related work experience is required.

  • Professional Engineer ( PE) is highly preferred.

  • Roadway & Highway design experience is required with any state DOT and / or Federal Highway projects. Geometric alignments design is required.

  • Microstation experience is essential, either with Inroads, Open Roads, or Geopak.
