Parsons is currently seeking an Industrial Engineer for employment in St. Louis, MO, Richmond, VAor San Antonio, TX to support capacity utilization assessments of Army maintenance depots and manufacturing arsenals. The assessments will ensure that maintenance depots and manufacturing arsenals are sized and adjusted accordingly over time to sustain core depot and critical manufacturing capabilities necessary to support war fighting equipment during current and future contingency operations.
Type of work that a successful candidate would be involved in includes: development of facility project documents such as preliminary sketches, or asset evaluations; design, planning and development of requirements in various buildings to accommodate equipment and manpower; analyze site requirements to develop facilities-related project plans; conduct economic analyses based on life cycle costs; review data from the site investigation for facilities planning projects; lead meetings and conferences to discuss technical matters regarding projects; review project proposals against a planning regulating document to verify the projects satisfy planning criteria and requirements; initiate new and revise existing plant layouts; gather, compile and analyze data and information on manufacturing operations and conduct special studies and projects as directed; analyze and evaluate production and service operations and systems, and associated management processes, for the integration of people, information, equipment, and facilities to achieve optimum quality and productivity in the performance of operating systems; ensure compliance with industry safety and design standards and guidelines; design layout of equipment and workspace; conduct facility planning and facility layout development of new and revised production plants and office buildings; review and validate data on number of departments, number of employees, plant size and space; estimate standards and prepare cost estimates on new products or engineering changes as assigned by the Value Engineering Manager; participate in safety involvement teams and prepare Activity Hazard Analyses. Travel within the continental United States is required.
The following will also be required of the candidate:
Receiving, reviewing, and evaluating customer provided data for completeness, determining data gaps, and developing professional engineering assumptions to support the planning and programming analysis
Supporting workshops, interviews, data collections, and facility assessments architectural studies on secure military installations
Independently provide engineering technical assistance in facility sizing, capacity, and condition for planning studies and recommendations
Developing and preparing reports, calculations, and drawings using provided software (MS Office, CADD, ESRI, Adobe CS, Sketchup).
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering and 5-8 years of engineering experience to include construction, design, utilities, capacity analysis, and/or site plans
Knowledge in the principles and practices of Industrial Engineering and/or Mechanical Engineering sufficient to work within an inter-discipline planning project team as the SME for process analysis
Capable of demonstrating verbal communication skills sufficient for working directly with clients as a professional, an engineer, and a representative of Parsons
Effective written communication sufficient to contributing to and authoring planning and programming documentation
Sufficient experience with MS Word, MS Excel, CAD, and ESRI GIS to meet duties and responsibilities
US citizen and be capable of passing a background check necessary for receiving a contractor identification issued by a military service
Preference given to Candidates with the following qualifications:
Service in an Active or Reserve Component of the US Army, Navy, Marines, or Air Force
Civilian employment experience with a military installation or organization
Specialized Software and Applications:
Advanced technical capability with GIS, Adobe CS, or other relevant and emerging software; and/or
Professional License (EIT or PE)
Possess or ability to obtain a Secret clearance
