We are looking for an experienced technical documentation specialist to join our team in supporting major capital transit rehabilitation programs in the Washington, DC area.

Parsons is seeking an experienced Technical Documentation Specialist to support the production of specifications and coordinate the integration into the construction documents in the DC area. Local candidates preferred. No relocation.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop, revise, and maintain standard specifications, including Division 1;

• Develop technical documents to support design, construction, contracts, and operations processes for capital and non-capital rail transit projects ;

• Develop and revise solicitation documents, including, but not limited to, Statements of Work, Requests for Information, and/or Requests for Bids/Proposals;

• Prepare policy and procedure documentation;

• Maintain the most up-to-date versions of technical standards in an orderly manner;

• Conduct timely technical reviews of draft documents

Background and Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field;

• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in preparing technical specifications and documents;

Familiarity with MasterSpec 49 Division specifications format

• Ability to work collaboratively across departments within a transit authority;

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (entire suite);

• Ability to write clearly and professionally;

• Ability to produce communications quickly, efficiently, and to a high standard;

• General knowledge of rail transit agencies' design, construction, contracts, and operations processes.
