Associate Geologist - Environmental

Position Overview:

The successful candidate, under close supervision, performs a variety of geological and field tasks by applying geological principles and field techniques. The Geologist at this level is in a developmental mode, being trained in the utilization of relevant geological and/or hydrogeological theories and practices, and gaining exposure to Company procedures. Some assignments involve the use of computer software applications (e.g., spreadsheets, GIS, CAD, aquifer test analysis, etc.). Willingness to travel and/or relocate to field sites is expected.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Performs various field and office tasks requiring the application of basic geological principles and fundamental theories. Applies available data pertinent to geology and/or hydrogeology, accurately describing and classifying soil and rock samples.

  • Conducts soil, surface water, groundwater, and sediment sampling programs.

  • Perform geological, hydrogeologic, and hydrochemistry analyses under the guidance of senior geologists/managers.

  • Assists in geological mapping and in performing basic geologic analyses.

  • Assists in geologic report preparation, including preparation of cross sections and compilation of environmental sample analyses under the guidance of senior geologists/managers.

  • Provide support to senior management on specific geology-related matters.

  • Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • 4-year degree in Geology or related field and 0+ years of related work experience.

  • Relevant work experience preferred.

  • Current 40 hour HAZWOPER preferred

Salary Range:

$18.61 - $32.55
