In this role:You willwork on environmental remediation projects, including landfills and hazardous waste site remediation and closure. The work will involve all stages from investigation to design to remedial action construction management. Projects are generally in the Eastern United States but opportunities may arise anywhere.


Performs a variety of engineering tasks by applying standard engineering techniques and analyses within a discipline. The Engineer at this level has experience and an increasing proficiency in the utilization of engineering theories and practices, and Company procedures. Typical project assignments are larger in scope, more difficult and varied than at the Associate Engineer level. CAE (computer aided engineering)/CAD (computer aided design)skills are an asset, but not necessary. Willingness to travel or relocate to supplier, client, or construction site locations, is expected.


Participate in site investigations.

Prepare engineering calculations related to geosynthetics, geotechnical (e.g. slope stability), stormwater, erosion and sediment control.

Completes a variety of assignments such as drawings, specifications, and other materials suitable for procurement and construction purposes, utilizing CAE/CAD as applicable.

Prepares standard engineering material quality takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and designs.

Prepares detailed requisitions for equipment and materials.

Reviews small and portions of larger supplier drawing submittals and assists in performing technical bid analyses.

Prepares and issues specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents.

Provides input and technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers, and lower-level Engineers working on the same project.

Provides construction monitoring and management on remedial action projects.

Use of GPS and total station survey equipment

Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.


Master’s degree in Civil, Geotechnical,Geoenvironmentalor Environmental Engineering (or related technical field) and1+ years of related work experience.An Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certificateis preferred as this position is expected to lead to licensing as a Professional Engineer. A 40-hr HAZWOPPER certificate is preferred but can be included in internal Company training.


Working knowledge of CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering.

Desire to pursue a technical engineering career path.

Desire and ability to learn proactively through research into policies and technologies.
