Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Civil Designer to join our team! In this role you will get to develop complex layout and design drawings utilizing theoretical and practical design knowledge, that meet company and industry standards and codes.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Utilizes a CAD workstation to prepare difficult and complex layout and design drawings utilizing theoretical and practical design knowledge.

  • Draft, edit, and finalize design plans and details using appropriate and efficient methods and adhering to Parsons drafting standards.

  • Interprets and ensures conformance to applicable standards and codes, as well as company policies and procedures.

  • Provide material quantity take offs from design drawings to allow for estimating.

  • Analyze sketches, notes, and other input material to develop the approach to completing a project drawing set.

  • Understands and utilizes more advanced software to complete assignments.

  • Works closely with Engineers and other disciplines to ensure coordinated design systems.

  • Meets layout requirements and develops alternate design layouts of systems as required.

  • Manage the production of drawing sets from initial creation, through markup and modification based on overall design; Checks orthographic (2D) and/or isometric (3D) drawings prepared by others.

  • Assists in training lower-level Designers in various procedures.

  • Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • 2-year technical degree or certificate of completion from an accredited designer/drafter course (or equivalent)

  • 6+ years of related experience.

  • Experience using/incorporating land or aerial surveying/mapping data and files

  • Proficiency in the latest releases of AutoCAD and AutoCAD Plant 3D

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret red line drawings from Engineers, CAD Managers, or others on the project team

  • Strong communication skills to include the ability to understand and follow complex verbal and written instructions, and the ability to interact effectively to maintain a team environment.

  • Ability to effectively present information to project team and client

  • Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel.

Salary Range:

$33.89 - $59.33
