Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Environmental Engineer to join our growing Environmental/Industrial team in New York. This is an exciting opportunity for someone early in their career looking for diverse projects and professional development by subject matter experts. In this role, you will support our environmental remediation team, working on complicated soil, sediment and groundwater remediation projects from initial investigations through construction and site closeouts. You will also support Parsons internal Research and Development programs under way in our Syracuse laboratory location. You will be expected to work both in the office and in the field. You will be based out of our Syracuse office supporting environmental remediation projects. Some travel to project sites and field work is expected.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Designs and performs laboratory experiments to support Parsons internal research and development program specific to PFAS destruction.

  • Performs various engineering and design assignments requiring the application of principles and fundamental theories studied in a four-year or six year university engineering or equivalent program, and available data in the related field.

  • Prepares or assists in preparing fundamental engineering computations, design reports, documents associated with field work, sampling and reporting, and engineering assessments. This role will involve authoring of documents for client and regulatory submittal (e.g., feasibility study reports, design reports, etc.).

  • Assists in execution of field work including sample collection and subcontractor oversight.

  • Manages or assists manager in in execution of field work including sample collection and subcontractor oversight.

  • Prepares of detailed requisitions for material purchase, services, and subcontracts.

  • Assists in the preparation and issuance of specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents.

  • Provides input to CAD Designer/Drafters working on the same projects

  • Communicates daily field operations and project information to the Project Manager/Senior Engineer. Can create presentations, review and edit project deliverables and maintain organized documentation of work on given project directory.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • 4-year degree in an engineering or field related curriculum

  • Advanced degree (PhD degree or equivalent) in an engineering or related technical curriculum with transcripts, letter of successful completion, and or diploma

  • PhD thesis work focused on PFAS and/or PFAS destruction technology development strongly preferred

  • 3+ years relevant industry experience

  • Prior industry professional publications strongly preferred

  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate preferred

  • Proficiency in various computer software applications typically used within the assigned discipline

  • Technical writing ability

  • Basic understanding of environmental rules and regulations

  • Preferable 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER Certification and valid refresher course

Salary Range:

$61,200.00 - $107,100.00
