Parsons is now hiring an experienced Railway Safety Expert with a desire to work on infrastructure projects that change the fabric of our communities.

We have been awarded a contract to automate the operation of urban Copenhagen Rail traffic (Future S-Train...the migration to driverless operation of a CBTC GOA2 based suburban train network) and are looking to hire a rail safety expert to reinforce our team in Denmark.

Responsibilities

  • Help in defining and implementing the Common Safety Methods Process at Programme level

  • Consolidate identification of hazards and safety requirements

  • Define safety requirements for tender

  • Organize and follow-up on safety workshops and analysis, and ensure traceability and provide extracts for design reviews, assessments (safety documentation supporting safety cases)

  • Review of Programme and safety documentation, and participation in general coordination activities.

  • Use DOORS to record hazards and safety requirements

  • Maintain and organize QA reviews of Hazard Log according to the Hazard management procedure

  • Liaise with the system team (configuration, RAM, requirements, operation, maintenance... )

  • Liaise with the subsystems (Rolling stock, CBTC, automated infrastructure, telecom, power supply, civil... )

  • Report to Parsons project Manager and to client's safety manager

Education/experience

  • Graduated in engineering

  • 10 to 20-year experience in rail environment (driverless metro, design phase, industry, operator)

  • Varied technical expertise in safety, system and rail subsystems (Rolling Stock, CBTC, Platform and TCC equipment, Operational rules... )

  • Team work

  • Task and result oriented

  • Fluent in English

  • Position based in Copenhagen, (can include partial home office)

Skills/Competencies

  • thorough knowledge of industry practices

  • Varied technical expertise in system and rail subsystems (Rolling Stock, signalling, CBTC)

  • Communication and interpersonal skills in line with a complex project environment.

  • Team Management and coordination experience

  • Task and result oriented

  • Fluent in English

  • Position based in Copenhagen, (can include partial home office).
