Project: NEOM The Line

Location: NEOM, Saudi Arabia

About the Role:

Parsons is seeking a highly experienced Director - Construction Logistics to lead and oversee the construction of large-scale logistics facilities at the ambitious NEOM The Line development. This role demands a seasoned professional with a minimum of 25 years of experience and have a proven track record in managing complex construction projects, a deep understanding of logistics operations, and a strong commitment to safety, quality, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Leadership:

  • Lead and manage all aspects of construction projects from inception to completion.

  • Develop and implement comprehensive project plans, schedules, and budgets.

  • Oversee the work of project managers, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors.

  • Monitor project progress and identify potential risks and issues.

  • Take proactive measures to mitigate risks and ensure project success.

Logistics Expertise:

  • Collaborate closely with logistics teams to understand operational requirements and design facilities accordingly.

  • Ensure that construction plans align with the long-term logistics strategy.

  • Optimize facility layouts and workflows to maximize efficiency and minimize costs.

  • Coordinate with logistics providers to ensure smooth material flow and equipment installation.

Team Management:

  • Build and lead a high-performing team of construction professionals.

  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.

  • Provide mentorship and coaching to team members.

  • Recruit and retain top talent.

Quality Assurance:

  • Implement rigorous quality control procedures to ensure adherence to industry standards and client specifications.

  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify and address quality issues.

  • Monitor safety performance and implement measures to prevent accidents and injuries.

Budget and Financial Management:

  • Develop and manage project budgets.

  • Monitor costs and identify opportunities for cost savings.

  • Prepare regular financial reports and forecasts.

Client Relations:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients.

  • Communicate effectively with clients to keep them informed of project progress and address concerns.

  • Ensure client satisfaction through timely delivery and exceptional quality.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is essential. Additional qualification in Project Management and/or Supply Chain Management is desirable.

  • Minimum of 25 years of progressive experience in construction management, project management and site supervision, with a strong focus on large-scale infrastructure projects.

  • Proven track record of successfully managing complex construction projects in challenging environments.

  • In-depth knowledge of construction site logistics principles.

  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.

  • Experience working in international environments, preferably in the Middle East.

  • A solid understanding of NEOM's vision and the unique challenges and opportunities associated with the project.
