Parsons is adding a Project Manager/Sr. Project Manager to lead roadway work in the metropolitan Phoenix, AZ area as part of our Mountains/Desert Region, comprised of people in projects in Arizona, Colorado, Nevada, and Utah . We have recent exciting wins with the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT), City of Phoenix and Tempe. If you’re looking to grow your career, we have the right projects along with local and regional staff to support your success. We need additional support for these varied and exciting projects and help us expand our foothold with our clients. We offer the flexibility to work remotely initially, but we look forward to when we can work together in our Tempe office. We are open to a range of experience levels for this role – so whether you have 12 years or 20+ years in the industry, let’s talk!

Our new Project Manager will lead roadway and traffic safety projects for ADOT, the Cities of Phoenix and Tempe, the Gila River Indian Community (GRIC), and private clients . Being a PM at Parsons means you have responsibility, authority, and the best team of engineers working on your projects. In this role, you will be responsible for scope, schedule, budget, as well as business development activities for small to large projects. Our project managers generally oversee project teams ranging in size from 4 to more than 20 professionals and with construction values ranging from $5M - $100M.


  • In this role, you will oversee and manage civil design for road, highway, arterial and collector street projects as a project manager and engineer of record.

  • Develop project scope, schedule, and budget adherence from design through construction.

  • Ensure the highest quality engineering is put forth to meet all design requirements.

  • Lead or participate in pursuit strategies and proposal preparation.

  • Participate in business development activities and marketing events.

  • Identify new opportunities with your current contacts in the region and help grow the business.

  • Take leadership roles in professional organizations.

  • Recruit, mentor, retain and develop top industry talent to enhance the current high-performance culture.


  • BS Degree in Civil Engineering and 12 years or more of related engineering design management experience with road/highway/interchange projects

  • Experience on ADOT projects is required.

  • Arizona PE required, or ability to obtain one within 6 months of hire

  • Proven ability to manage projects, interface with clients, and enjoy being hands-on technically in a project

  • Experience in Microstation, InRoads/Open Roads Designer and/or AutoCAD and Civil3D is required.

Salary Range:

$121,900.00 - $234,200.00
