T4 Program Summary: The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) awarded the Technical Support Services Contract 4 (T4) to Parsons as the prime contractor. This $1.3 billion+ contract has a 4-year base period with two 3-year options. The statement of work includes a variety of activities that support the FAA's Capital Investment Plan (CIP) modernization efforts: Site selection and engineering, construction, environmental and fire/life safety, equipment installation and testing, CAD, and other technical services as required. Work is performed across the nation in each of the FAA's nine regions as well as the Aeronautical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and the Technical Center in Atlantic City, New Jersey and in several U.S. territories. An average staff of 400-500 with a peak staff over 650 supports this contract, in addition to those subcontractors who perform construction work.
Position is for an Electronics Technician III, on a full time basis, to provide construction/installation support for the Parsons/Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) T4 Program throughout the Southern Region, based out of Atlanta, GA. Individual will need to apply advanced technical knowledge to solve unusually complex problems that typically cannot be solved by referencing manufacturers' manuals or similar documents. Work typically requires a detailed understanding of the interrelationships of circuits. Individual will be required to use independent judgment in performing tasks and possess the ability to utilize complex testing instruments. Initial emphasis will be placed on electronics/electrical installation support and elements of FAA equipment used for navigational aids in the National Airspace System (NAS), under the guidance of a Field Operations Manager and working closely to provide technical guidance to lower level Parsons electronics technicians on assigned projects. Projects scopes include modifications and new installations at various FAA facilities to assist the FAA in upgrading the NAS. May be used in both the construction and installation phases of a project to support projects to install, test, and integrate electronics systems, or to modify existing systems into the FAA NAS. Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate including hands-on site preparation work that may require hand-digging conduit/cable trenches, minor concrete pad placement, conduit bending, minor demolition, hand hole installations, and grounding/bonding of miscellaneous conduits and enclosures. 10+ years of related construction/installation work experience preferred. Requires working knowledge of construction principles and methods. 100% travel will be required to project sites for completion of tasks. Must be able to meet customer security requirements (moderate to high risk). A background check by federal authorities will be performed.
