Job Description:

We have been a leader in transportation design and delivery of civil infrastructure for more than 75 years and are looking for an experienced Regional Transportation Engineering Lead to lead a team of skilled design managers, professional engineers, and technicians.
We are seeking an individual who can lead a team of professionals working on our expanding portfolio of projects. Parsons’ extensive experience in this field, combined with your operational leadership, management, and technical guidance, will propel your career forward with opportunities for advancement with top performance. We need our Engineering Leads to be versatile as well as have exceptional communication, analytical, and management skills. In this role, you demonstrate technical excellence in leadership and transportation engineering in delivering complex transportation projects. You will manage projects through all project life-cycle phases from project inception, programming, design, construction, and closeout.
Responsibilities:
Help grow our transportation engineering and business practice within the transportation group business throughout British Columbia.
Act as the company representative with the client and selected subcontractors during the project/program execution.
Oversee the establishment of Project Execution Plan, Health and Safety Plan, and Quality Assurance/Quality Control Plan Documents.
Provide project management for transportation and multi-disciplinary transportation projects for our clients on large-sized projects to meet the project scope, schedule, and budget.
Provide technical excellence and oversee the preparation of high-quality highway design engineering deliverables, serving as Engineer of Record and/or Coordinating Professional on various-sized projects.
Oversee and/or prepare contract documents, cost estimates, reports, and proposals.
Supervise the work of transportation engineers and design technicians on various transportation projects.
Monitor productivity and technical proficiency of assigned personnel. Makes staffing assignments and reassignments as project needs arise.
Review work produced to ensure that applicable codes, standards, and procedures are followed, and quality is acceptable.
Conduct performance evaluations, take corrective action as necessary, recommend promotions and salary actions, and recommend training and development for assigned personnel.
Staff recruitment to fulfill resourcing needs and workload planning.
Provide direction to and mentor junior and intermediate engineers and design technicians.
Actively participate in and promote the Quality Improvement Program.
Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
This position can be based out of one of our British Columbia offices located in Victoria, Burnaby, and Kamloops.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (or related field) and 10+ years of related work experience.
Registered as Professional Engineer (P.Eng.), or eligible for registration, with Canadian provincial engineering regulatory bodies.
Experience working on BC Ministry of Transportation & Infrastructure, Alberta Transportation, Saskatchewan Ministry of Highways and Infrastructure, or Manitoba Infrastructure and Transportation projects is an asset.
Proven ability to perform in a lead capacity.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations is required.
Possess a thorough knowledge of current technology and be able to select and apply appropriate engineering software for use on the project.
Project Management Professional (PMP) from Project Management Institute is an asset.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Willingness to travel as needed within the region.

Salary Range:
$121,900 - $226,500
