Parsons Corporation MEP Project Manager in United Arab Emirates

Job Description:

Managing a team of MEP engineers for the execution of MEP related design and installations to meet the project specifications, authorities having jurisdiction within the Airport Expansion Program in line with the project schedule and budget.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee MEP works for all the Projects /Packages.

  • Manage the MEP Consultant Engineer for the Design and Construction Activities.

  • Cooperates with the Construction and Project Managers for the on-time and on-budget completion of the Projects.

  • Review the Contractor’s Progress Reports and prepare reports and provide feedback for the Project Controls Department

  • Manages teams of PMC MEP engineers on how to assure technical compliance, Safety and the quality of works on all the sites.

  • Being proactive on supporting the Consultants/Sub-Consultants and Contractors on the MEP works

  • Review Contractors shop drawings, program and progress.

  • Review Method / Risk / Health and Safety statements.

  • Review and apply Testing and commissioning program and process.

  • Cooperate with the Client Engineering department for discussing design changes in construction in order to provide technical solutions.

  • Respond on the RFIs

  • Assure compliance with codes, standards and statutory authority requirements.

  • Test & Commissioning management.

  • Prepare Consultants & Contractors Scope of works (Eg Request for Proposals/tender scope) .

  • Assist the Client Engineering Department on the developing Processes and Procedures and Standards for MEP works.

  • Cooperate and coordinate with the other disciplines for securing the integration of working activities.

Pre-Tender Activities:

  • Have the experience to review and advise on cost estimation of works and materials.

  • Ensure that tenders received from bidders are in accordance with required specification and assists in the development of the company's bidding / supply chain.

  • Advise the estimating team on costs of M&E design, including considerations to changes in specification and details. Ensure that the client’s requirements are correctly interpreted and taken account of up to completion of the M&E design whilst having regard to the company’s contract sum.

  • Evaluate all tender returns from subcontractors for inclusion into the company’s tender.

  • Review M&E design information at tender stage and undertake full design gap analysis to advise the estimating team of any design shortfalls.

  • Produce Value Engineering options.

  • Evaluate potential costs for Statutory services as budgets.

  • Attend site visits during the tender process.

  • Assist, when required, in tender settlements.

Qualifications:

  • BSC or MSc degree in Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering.

  • At least 15 years of experience with 8 years in similar role.

  • Participation in Airport projects is a must for 7 years minimum.

  • Contractor’s experience on a similar role will be much appreciated.

  • High level of energy, drive combined with strong customer service skills to ensure a quality M&E Management service is delivered to a number of concurrent and maybe complex construction projects.

  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral.

  • Good organising skills with strong attention to detail, ensuring that tasks are completed accurately, efficiently and consistently meet high standards and deadlines.

  • Ability to develop relationships both within the business and externally with clients, demonstrating tact, discretion and confidentiality as required.

  • Member of CIBSE would be desirable but not essential.

  • Demonstrated effective managerial capability on construction projects of comparable scope and complexity is also required.

  • Effective oral and written skills for client presentations, technical reporting, and internal / external correspondence; Ability to effectively present information to key stakeholders as required by the client.

  • Understanding of budget development and cost accounting

  • Ability to function in a multi-organizational environment by developing relationships that complies with the client’s proactive, collaborative culture.
