Resident Design Engineer (Landscape)

Abu Dhabi, UAE

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Resident Design Engineer to join our team! In this role you will get to Design , p lan, schedule, supervise, and exercise administrative authority over all field of engineering work.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support to the construction team and produces any design that arise during construction work.

  • Provide guidance and resolve design-related challenges promptly and efficiently.

  • Maintain accurate documentation of design related decisions, modifications, and internal approval during the Construction Phase.

  • highlight any design change or deviations and provide necessary updates to the project management team and involved stakeholders.

  • Design of ALL Services and coordinate with relevant Authorities.

  • Preparation of plans and cross sections detailing all new service reservations required for the works

  • Design of landscaping ,road work, infrastructure, storm water, road marking, signage, public realm, landscaping ,etc.

  • Responsible for reviewing all shop drawings, design proposals, method statements, any requests for information relating to the infrastructure ,landscaping, irrigation and associated works.

  • Coordinate with Parsons' design Engineers for resolution of related issues.

  • Maintain the Resident Engineer’s daily diary and daily diaries and reports by his subordinates.

  • Coordinate with the Contractor on scheduling and application of resources.

  • Direct, assist and monitor the performance of the construction team working on the supervision of the construction of the landscaping, irrigation and associated works.

  • Coordinate with client/PMC, the Contractor and related concerned authorities.

  • Advise on contractual and design/construction matters regarding utilities diversions and installations, traffic diversions, and other related works.

  • Generally, supervise, review, monitor and report on the progress of the design of the landscaping, irrigation and associated works.

  • Liaise with all parties for site safety.

  • Convene and chair regular site meetings about design issues related to infrastructure and landscaping work and related activities.

  • Issue additional drawings as required in coordination with the design office.

  • Ensure prompt exchange of correspondence and approvals.

  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of records.

  • Ensure safety goals are achieved on the project and oversee implementation of safety procedures on the project.

  • Act positively and participate in all health and safety issues at the site, as required by the Project Safety Representatives.

  • Comply with safety, health and risk management requirements.

  • Provide all necessary on-site direction and issue site instructions for landscape, irrigation and other related activities.

  • Check and measure the performed work and record and display progress vs programmed work.

  • Prepare progress reports as applicable.

  • Ensure correctness and completeness of ‘as-built’ drawings in the area of his discipline.

  • Participate in contract administration.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Architectural or related filed with 10+ years of related work experience.

  • Proven ability to perform in a management capacity. Demonstrated effective managerial capability on construction projects of comparable scope and complexity is also required, as well as excellent written and oral communications skills.

  • Chartered Engineer or Professional Engineer (PE) registration or other similar professional organizations preferred.

  • Emphasis on Quality Assurance Specifications and Statistical Quality Control.

  • Must be fully computer literate and able to utilize computer technology to access data, maintain records, generate reports, etc. and any project specific engineering and construction relevant software.

  • Registered as practicing engineer with ADM or should have an equivalency certificate from ministry of education

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

  • Requires a comprehensive knowledge of engineering and construction related processes, as well as industry practices.

  • Requires excellent written and oral communication skills, a familiarity with CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering and construction, and the proven ability for performing in a supervisory capacity on a project
