Parsons Corporation Senior Associate Landscape Architect in United Arab Emirates

Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Associate Landscape Architect to join our team! In this role you will get to work in a young and dynamic team for the delivery of creative public realm design of varying scales.

The Senior Associate Landscape Architect will manage projects and direct the work of the studio landscape architects with a specific emphasis upon design. This position is responsible for co-managing the design studio from a design perspective for the successful delivery of Landscape projects to high quality standards of design and technicality in accordance with the Client’s expectations. The Senior Associate Landscape Architect will be required to demonstrate an expert understanding of local and international design of landscape architecture and urban design.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Leading a landscape team with an expert understanding of the aesthetic, technical, resource, and financial aspects of landscape architecture.

  • Providing design leadership and mentoring to the landscape studio staff.

  • Working with the studio management team for the daily running and also the development of the studio.

  • Work collaboratively with the master planning team to develop design at a landscape master planning level.

  • Assist with the financial performance of studio projects.

  • Coordinate with internal disciplines and manage the activities of sub-consultants for the delivery of projects.

  • Demonstrating the ability to run a design process from pre-conceptual design through to final design with an understanding of production techniques, procedures, and standards.

  • Presenting to clients at a business development level and also the design from the outset of the project.

  • Assisting the business development team in the preparation of technical and financial proposals.

  • Demonstrating to the internal team and the external client team an expert understanding of industry codes/standards/health and safety requirements and sustainability regulations.

  • The ability to Perform other related tasks as required.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • The ability to manage projects through all aspects of the design process, specifically at the early design stage and or the technical design stages.

  • The ability to confidently present to Clients representing the studio and wider company though solid communication skills.

  • Possess a team oriented and collaborative approach to landscape architecture within the studio.

  • An expert understanding of the regional construction industry, local construction methods and their influence on design decisions, including a working understanding of specifications.

  • Possess self-motivation, work part of the team but also have the ability to work independently.

  • Demonstrate an understanding of key design related computer programs such as Revit, Adobe suites and 3D modelling software such as Sketch Up and Rhino.

  • Technical skills and efficiencies in both standard and specialist computer programs such as Autocad, Revit, Sketchup, Rhino, Adobe Create Suite, Land FX, and MS office suite programs

  • 12+ Years of continuous employment within the profession of Landscape Architecture.

  • Fluency in English, verbal and written. Proficiency in other languages, especially Arabic, is highly regarded.

  • Minimum fifteen (15+) years of continuous experience in landscape architecture. International experience in North America, Europe, Middle East and Asia is preferrable.

  • Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from an accredited University or College program

  • Fluency in English, verbal and written. Proficiency in other languages, especially Arabic, is highly regarded.

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

  • A proven track record of UAE / regional landscape architectural delivery, both technically and financially.

  • The ability to build and manage a team of landscape architects.

  • A working knowledge and understanding of both technical and commercial aspects of fee proposals.

  • Possess professional registration, licensure or chartership with an internationally recognized professional association. CMLI / ASLA / ALIA
