Wet Utilities Engineer (Design)
Dubai
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Wet Utilities Design Engineer to join our team! In this role you will work within our design management team to support the coordination, review and delivery of multi-disciplinary design projects. You will get to engage in decision making to determine methods and solutions for solving complex engineering problems and select the most efficient and economical manner in meeting the objectives.
What You’ll Be Doing :
Reviewing hydraulic models for sewerage and pressure mains networks and providing proposals for optimizationsfor some of the largest and most exciting engineering projects in Dubai today.
You will review engineering design models in Civil3D or similar software.
You will receive advanced level training to develop your skills in modern technological applications.
You will work with other engineering disciplines to develop coordinated multi-discipline designs.
You will prepare presentations and reports to explain proposals and solutions to clients, Authorities and management.
Provide support for other engineering activities as required.
Provide input to BIMCAD Designers.
Provide input and technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers, and lower level Engineers working on the same project.
Shall be familiar with load demand calculations for large private developments and/ or large government projects. Shall be conversant with Water / Irrigation / Firefighting Authority regulations such as DEWA, ADDC/ ADWEA / TRANSCO, DM, ADM, DCD, ADCD and other relevant authorities within the gulf region.
Shall be aware about the requirements for the hydraulic design for Pump stations.
Shall be responsible for developing utility cross sections and rainbow diagrams as per requirements of local authorities in the Gulf region like RTA (Dubai), DMT (Abu Dhabi), MOMRA (KSA), etc.
Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
Shall support, with suitable guidance from Senior engineers, the preparation of detailed technical, commercial and Life Cycle Cost Analyses of various technical alternatives.
Shall be able to support in preparing reports and presentations for the Clients.
Shall be conversant with the British and American codes as well as DEWA / DM regulations for the potable water and irrigation designs.
Shall have experience of liaising with DEWA / DM for obtaining NOCs and Design Approvals, etc.
Play a leading role in managing QA/QC activities.
What Required Skills You’ll Bring
Bachelor's degree in Civil / Hydraulics / Water/ Environmental Engineering (or related field).
A minimum 5 years of related work experience in wet utilities like potable water, waste water, sewerage networks projects , preferably within GCC countries.
Master's degree would be an advantage.
Skilled in the application of BIM.
Capability to work in a CDE is required.
Requires engineeringknowledge in the design of sewerage/potable water networks. Familiarity with CAD (Civil 3D), Bentley WaterCAD / WaterGems / OpenUtilities or related software and other PC software packages typically associated with wet services engineering is also required.
Have strong English language speaking and writing skills.
