We are looking for a Geotechnical Engineer with mining experience that exhibits great problem-solving skills, a “can do” approach, and thrives in a high energy environment. In this role, you will work with a team of experts, supporting various mine closure investigations, designs, and construction projects, and oversight. Willingness to periodically travel to field sites is expected.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs a variety of civil/environmental engineering tasks to complete remedial designs for mine waste and other geo-environmental applications.

  • Familiarity with hydrology, open channel hydraulics, or fluvial geomorphology

  • Develop and oversee investigation programs.

  • Analyze and interpret laboratory geotechnical test results.

  • Review boring logs and develops subsurface soil profiles.

  • Perform geotechnical engineering calculations, such as slope stability and settlement.

  • Assist in developing design drawings and writing technical specifications.

  • Write technical design reports and memos.

  • Complete investigation and construction field assignments (as needed),

  • Obtain the necessary management skills to grow into a Task Manager/Project Manager/ Technical Lead position.

  • Work effectively and collaboratively with the project team.

  • Candidate must also implement behavior-based safety tools to achieve incident-free operations (no personal injuries, property damage or environmental releases) for both client and Parsons.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineer or related field.

  • Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering preferred (not required).

  • 5 or more years of related work experience in geotechnical investigations and design.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft software and various computer software applications.

  • Requires a demonstrated proficiency in both written and oral communication skills.
