Job Description:

Human Resources Business Partner - Canada

Our Human Resources Business Partners execute Parsons’ HR strategies designed to enhance performance, development, retention, engagement, and redeployment of employees in collaboration with Sr. HR leaders, business leaders, and managers. This is a key position that will execute solutions in the full spectrum of human resources disciplines to promote a culture of high performance, strong engagement, and consistent growth. This position is remote and can be based anywhere in Canada.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Be a confident and trusted partner to leadership teams throughout Canada.

  • Coach business leaders and managers on all stages of performance management, compensation practices, 1:1 communications, retention, and goal setting

  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations concerns, with empathy, objectivity, and a thoroughness that lead to thoughtful recommendations and solutions

  • Lead with data and analytics to drive business insights and help inform decision making

  • Provide guidance and input on talent development and succession planning

  • Collaborate with managers to ensure that employees are compensated competitively in line with comparable market positions. This includes analyzing salary planning data and working with managers to recommend job title changes, promotions, and equity adjustments as appropriate.

  • Support large company-wide initiatives for your functional group unites (e.g., merit planning, goal setting, organizational changes – any number of varying initiatives through-out the year)

  • Collaborate with HR Centers of Excellence to provide seamless HR support and guidance to the business

Qualities/Skills you possess

  • A bachelor’s degree in business, Human Resources, a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • 8+ years of progressive HR experience that includes performance management, compensation, and employee engagement

  • Extensive knowledge of all Provincial and Territorial Employment Standards Acts and Regulations

  • Working knowledge human resources processes and/or compliance management concepts and regulations

  • Effective and detailed skills in the area of employee relations

  • High level skills in communication, written and verbal, difficult conversations, and problem solving

  • Ability to prioritize, pivot quickly as changes occur and be resourceful

  • A track record of establishing strong and productive partnerships with all levels of employees and managers

  • Business acumen, critical thinking, results oriented and the ability to identify effective solutions

  • Proven ability to deliver results and maintain a high level of service satisfaction

  • Advanced knowledge and utilization of Microsoft 365: Excel, Outlook, Word and Power Point

Nice to have

  • Workday experience

  • Professional certification, Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) or Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP)

  • Union experience
