Ready to put your project engineer expertise to work on marquee projects that will change the fabric of our communities? Would you enjoy being involved on a wide variety of engineering tasks on large scale, complex projects? Parsons is now hiring a Lead Senior Drainage and SWM Engineer for our rapidly expanding portfolio of projects. In this role you can expect to work on large design build transit and transportation projects across Canada and Us as part of infrastructure team.

We need our engineers to be versatile, enthusiastic to work in highly flexible, team-oriented environment and who have exceptional communication, analytical and leadership skills. In this role you will integrate the various engineering, scheduling, procurement, construction, and startup aspects of a small project. May manage a subtask of a larger project or study in accordance with contractual obligations. Responsible for the technical excellence of the engineering functions of the project including coordination of technical disciplines, procurement of materials and equipment, and construction planning assistance.
Responsibilities:
Independently leads the drainage component of the projects. This includes but not limited to all phases of design and tendering process for drainage/SWM features of the projects.
Develops the scope of engineering work, schedules, and budgets for assigned project elements, and monitors progress to meet schedule and budget requirements.
Interfaces with procurement and subcontract personnel to facilitate the bid process. Coordinates the utilization of interdisciplinary technical personnel on the project with other Project Engineers. Coordinates the assignment of personnel from other technical support groups within the company.
Assists the Project Manager in planning, directing, supervising, and controlling the execution of technical, fiscal, and administrative functions of the project or study.
Prepares technical reports and documentation of activity for the client and project management.
Obtains, analyzes, and circulates technical and contractual information to project disciplines.
Lead and support proposals and business developments efforts.
Managing regulatory applications and approvals.
Complete field assessments, analysis and evaluations as required.
Provide quality control and independent review of deliverables.
Provide support for construction activities as project manager, project engineer or contract administrator.
Provide input to the career development of junior staff, including technical direction, training recommendations, coaching and mentoring
Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
Qualifications:
5+ years of related engineering experience, and a broad general engineering background is required
Degree in Civil Engineering or Water Resources Engineering.
Professional Engineer registration or eligibility to register with PEO is required.
Strong understanding of the Ontario engineering consulting market.
Established contacts and knowledge of the regulatory environment and approvals process would be a notable asset.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills, with ability to build rapport.
In-depth understanding of contract administration services and requirements
A thorough knowledge of current technology and the capabilities and efficiencies of specific engineering software (PC-SWMM, HEC-RAS, SWMHYMO, Visual OTTHYMO, InfoWorks ICM, Civil3D/MicroStation) for use in completing engineering assignments.
