Job Description:

Parsons seeks a Senior Project Manager to play a key role in growing transportation and infrastructure PM services group. Ready to put your project management expertise to work on complex projects? Are you great with people and have a track record managing teams that get the job done? Parsons is now hiring an experienced Senior Project Manager with a desire to work on creating innovative, practical solutions to various projects that enhance the fabric of our community.

In this role you will be responsible for the scope development, scope management and performance of the project to meet project goals and objectives. You will plan and define program goals and devise methods to accomplish them. You will need in depth knowledge of client objectives, contract terms and corporate policies.

Parsons extensive experience in this field, combined with your experience coordinating complex projects through all phases of project inception, programming, design, and closeout will propel your career and leadership opportunities forward. We need our Senior Project Managers to be versatile, enthusiastic to work in highly flexible, team-oriented environment that have exceptional communication, analytical and organizational skills.

The ideal candidate for this role will meet one of the following educational and experience criteria:

  • Hold a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Geography, Urban Planning, Project Management, Construction Technology, or a related field, and have at least 15 years of project management experience within the relevant field or

  • Possess a Diploma from a College or Technical School in Engineering, Geography, Urban Planning, Project Management, Construction Technology, or a related field, and have a minimum of 15 years of project management experience in the relevant or related discipline.

  • Preference maybe given to applicants with a Project Management Professional (PMP) designation or those eligible to obtain one and who have experience in infrastructure-related projects.

  • Complex Infrastructure project delivery experience is desirable.

  • Experience with alliance models, Design-Build and Design-Bid-Build is ideal.

  • Proven ability to perform in a management capacity, excellent written and oral communications skills, and a thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations are also required. In addition, must be knowledgeable of current technology and how it can be effectively utilized on the project.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Leading a dynamic project delivery team, responsible for people development, mentorship, and fostering a positive team environment.

  • Working on business development and fostering new cliental by preparing comprehensive proposals to clearly articulate the teams skills and knowledge.

  • Participating in strategic initiatives, such as the ongoing review of the project management policy and processes, and internal corporate project management tools, to continually refine and improve the project delivery process and client requirements.

  • Enforcing Project Manager functions in line with Parsons' policy and guidelines.

  • Managing multiple complex project scope, deliverables, risks, budgets, and schedules to ensure alignment with the overall work assignments from clients.

  • Spearheading various project management activities, including project team meetings and engagement activities.

  • Effectively managing large project scope, schedule, cost, and quality against competing demands.

  • Efficiently managing project internal and external resources to ensure maximum effectiveness.

  • Developing and executing comprehensive internal and external communication plans.

  • Building and maintaining robust stakeholder relationships to meet project objectives, including leading consultation sessions.

  • Engaging in Indigenous Relations consultation activities and Land Acquisition negotiations.

  • Delivering project presentations and offering professional advice to key stakeholders.

  • Conducting project evaluations and post-implementation reviews, documenting key findings for future reference.

  • Assist with internal project management controls to manage client needs.

  • Contributing to building relationships with clients and working on client proposal documentation to ensure successful award of new projects.

  • Working with the internal team to grow our Project Management skills and knowledge to ensure successful delivery for our clients

  • Works with other managers, project engineers, and discipline leads to develop budgets, schedules, risk registers, and plans for the various elements of a project.

  • A solid implementation of the project management methodology, as advocated by the Project Management Institute.

  • Thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations.

  • Demonstration of the ability to make strategic decision-making.

  • Ability to manage multiple large complex projects

  • Ability to manage interdisciplinary teams of professionals and supporting labor categories.

  • Proficient in conflict resolution, managing disputes professionally and constructively.

  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities, effectively conveying complex information.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing. Experience in preparing correspondence, written reports, presentations, and strong collaboration skills.

  • May participate in negotiations with regulatory agencies and in public meetings in support of clients.

  • Exceptional time and workload management, adept at juggling multiple tasks and priorities.

  • Proven experience in team development, mentoring, fostering growth, and encouraging collaborative environments.

  • Skilled in change management, navigating transitions with confidence and resilience.

  • Capable of exerting influence without explicit authority, guiding others through leadership and persuasion.

  • Solid understanding of project management principles and methodologies.

  • Extensive experience in transportation infrastructure, offering an understanding of the complexities of such systems.

  • Prior management of major infrastructure projects, demonstrating the ability to lead ambitious undertakings to success.

  • Either already in possession of the Project Management Professional (PMP) designation or eligible and committed to achieving it within 6 months of joining our team.

  • A basic understanding of the design process for infrastructure projects

  • Experience in Indigenous consultation with Indigenous communities.

Salary Range:

$99,600 - $185,100
