Vice President, Business Development – Integrated Delivery - Canada

If your business relationships include Canadian transportation authority’s and agencies and construction clients and partners, then this may be your perfect opportunity. Our unique, industry leading integrated delivery model is transforming the infrastructure industry and we seek a Vice President of Business Development to join our team. The ideal candidate for this role will have a demonstrated professional history with client business development focused on Alternative Project Delivery (APD) and Public Private Partnerships (P3). The job can be based in one of Canadian offices with a tele-commuting option available for the right candidate.
We are looking for a recognized Leader to lead our sales, business development and growth strategy for Alternative Project Delivery Projects for our Critical Infrastructure Market Lines in Canada. These Market Lines include transportation and water/wastewater projects. Our transportation portfolio includes road & highway, bridge & tunnel, transit & rail, aviation, intelligent transportation systems and other smart mobility technologies and applications.
This Vice President will be responsible for full lifecycle sales efforts across Canada and will report to the Mobility Solutions Senior Vice President of Business Development. To be considered you’ll need to be a business development professional or proven seller/doer who can strengthen our current business ties; organize and lead meetings between clients/potential clients and technical/key staff; build pursuit teams; be actively involved in industry associations and attend industry events. You will be a key member of our management team, ensuring adherence to internal business development processes, engaging directly in proposals and bids to help determine approach, pricing structure, and equitable contract terms and conditions. This position also requires the ability to be a successful negotiator on contracts as well as teaming and joint venture agreements. You must be able to recognize, and act upon, opportunities to promote our expertise and past performance. The position will require travel primarily within Canada to cultivate new and ongoing business development endeavors and periodic travel elsewhere to attend company meetings and workshops.
Establishing and maintaining client contacts, use of our CRM system, developing sales strategy, ability to successfully propose and win contracts will be keys to your success.
Preferred Education and Experience:
20+ years of transportation experience, primarily within the business development alternative delivery method procurements.
Successful track record of developing new and ongoing relationships with key infrastructure clients in Canada that has resulted in key awards.
Experience in leading strategic planning, strategic teaming, win strategies, and proposal/presentation development.
Thorough understanding of pricing and contract terms, as well as negotiation experience with potential transportation clients and partners.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Planning, Architecture or Business from an accredited institution.
Ability to leverage your key contacts with private organizations and state and municipal agencies within the region and build a robust sales pipeline for Parsons.
Skills and Competencies:
Requires a working knowledge of infrastructure industry business practices and the negotiation of contracts. Incumbent must also possess strong written and oral communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and a working knowledge of PC software packages typically associated with business development.
