Water Resources Drainage Engineer – Transportation Infrastructure – Toronto, Canada
Opportunity :
Our Parsons Toronto office is now hiring an experienced Drainage/ Stormwater Engineer to join our GTR Drainage Group. If you enjoy being involved in a wide variety of water resources projects and tasks, on large scale municipality and transportation projects - apply now!
The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of engineering tasks by applying standard engineering techniques and analyses within Drainage discipline , which may involve CAE (computer aided engineering)/CAD (computer aided design) applications. This position will be hybrid and based in in the Metro Toronto area, either from our Markham, Oakville, or Toronto offices.
Responsibilities include:
Prepares hydrologic and hydraulic models for Municipal, Road, Highway, Rail and Transit projects
Design engineering of various culvert drainage systems for road, highway, and rail/transit projects
Helps preparing technical reports and memorandums
Develops and/or supervise the creation of engineering products that meet client quality requirements
Coordinate's drainage requirements for interdisciplinary analytical studies and analyses
Completes field assessments, analysis and evaluations as required
Provides support for construction activities as project engineer or contract administrator
Assists with proposal preparation and business development
Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (or related field) 3+ years or more of related work experience.
Professional Engineer registration ( PENG ) or EIT in any province in Canada. .
Postgraduate degree in water resources will be an asset.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
A thorough knowledge of current technology and the capabilities and efficiencies of specific engineering software (EPA/PCSWMM, HEC-RAS, SWMHYMO, Visual OTTHYMO, Civil3D/MicroStation) for use in completing engineering assignments.
