It’s an exciting time for Parsons as we transform from an engineering firm to a technology company. Our Senior Benefits Consultant will play a key role in the transformation of not only how we handle employee benefits, but also in the overall transformation of People Services at Parsons.

Position Overview:

The Senior Benefits Consultant will oversee the implementation and administration of the Corporation’s benefits programs. The successful candidate will facilitate administration between cognizant benefit vendors/administrators, HRIS and IT organizations for deployment in Workday, identify reporting requirements required by management and monthly premium payments, research, interpret plan eligibility rules and analyze data as needed. The Consultant will be involved in annual enrollment planning, employee communications including required plan documents and federal, statutory and municipal filings. We are flexible on the work location. This position can be done working remotely from home or a nearby Parsons office.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Prepares requirements, interprets and analyzes benefits data for Workday administration.

  • Analyzes enrollment, benefit usage, services, coverage, effectiveness, cost, plan experience to evaluate trends and prepare comparative analysis.

  • Prepares and submits federal, statutory and municipal required compliance testing and fees (e.g. San Francisco Health Care Ordinance and Annual Section 125 Non-Discrimination Testing).

  • Gathers pertinent financial data in response to plan audits as needed.

  • Maintains fringe group benefit entitlement schedules.

  • Support 401(k) Plan transactions to merge the acquired plans into the Parsons RSP, facilitate receipt of all required files/documentation, oversee final compliance activities, including final discrimination tests, and federal filings.

  • Coordinates plan education opportunities, wellness events and benefit fairs.

  • Maintains benefits library (Source and Workday), ensuring legally required documents are updated and/or revised as needed.

  • Responds to escalated employee inquiries, coordinates research, interprets plan provisions/benefit entitlements.

  • Functions as a liaison between vendors on eligibility, coverage and other benefit matters as needed.

Preferred Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school is desired.

  • Minimum eight years of Benefits-related experience.

  • Workday experience is required.

  • Experience using technology to perform job requirements, including but not limited to MS Office, Excel and Service Cloud.
