Parsons Corporation Virtual Senior Software Engineer in United States

T4 Program Summary: The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) awarded the Technical Support Services Contract 4 (T4) to Parsons as the prime contractor. This $1.3 billion+ contract has a 4-year base period with two 3-year options. The statement of work includes a variety of activities that support the FAA’s Capital Investment Plan (CIP) modernization efforts: Site selection and engineering, construction, environmental and fire/life safety, equipment installation and testing, CAD, and other technical services as required. Work is performed across the nation in each of the FAA’s nine regions as well as the Aeronautical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and the Technical Center in Atlantic City, New Jersey and in several U.S. territories. An average staff of 400-500 with a peak staff over 650 supports this contract, in addition to those subcontractors who perform construction work.
The successful candidate will work with the IS Manager, Project Managers, T4 clients and others as necessary to support the design and development of project-specific mobile and desktop software solutions, utilizing a suite of tools including Microsoft .NET framework 2.0 and above, and MS Visual Studio.NET 2005 and SQL Server 2008 or newer. The qualified candidate will demonstrate a deep understanding of scalable technical requirements gathering, design and development, and must be comfortable implementing and maintaining a Test-Drive Development (TDD) best practice environment. An extensive background in systems integration will be a significant advantage for this role, in addition to familiarity with continuous code review processes, procedures and methodologies.
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or related degree
15 years+ of full life cycle development with production software
5 years+ of enterprise solution development within the defense, security, and infrastructure government contracting sector(s) preferred
Minimum of 15 Years programming experience
Advanced programming proficiency: MS Excel, Visual Studio.NET 2005 and newer, ASP.NET, Visual Basic .NET, MS SQL Server 2005/2008/2012, XML
Minimum of 5 years of experience: Microsoft SQL Server (2005/2008/2012)
Minimum of 5 years of experience working within a distributed team environment with strong configuration management skills.
Experience with various Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies
Experience with the creation and deployment of bespoke/custom cross-platform mobile solutions for entities with complex financial and asset tracking/management requirements.
Experience with migrating/replacing legacy systems and integration of new solutions to allow parallel path transitioning that preserves business and technical continuity.
Experience with backup and recovery, performance tuning and optimization, troubleshooting, replication, data migration, data warehousing, architecture and design, stored procedures, views, functions, triggers, maintenance plans and scheduling jobs in SQL server agent
Demonstrated skills in analysis and software application design and documentation.
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain colleague and client relationships
Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services
Must be able to meet customer security requirements. A background check by Federal Authorities will be performed.

Microsoft Certified Applications Developer
Familiarity with Parsons-specific tool suites and technical development practices (2+ years experience)
