We are looking for an AssociateTransportation Planner to support transportation planning and traffic engineering efforts as they relate to the development of transportation plans, support for preliminary and final roadway design, and traffic impact studies. If you haveexperience with awide range of transportation planning and traffic engineering software packages and have a few great projects under your belt, this is the opportunity for you!

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs analysis and field work related to roadway capacity and safety analyses. Support traffic count programs and other roadway inventory and condition assessments. Develops conceptual recommendations to address identified deficiencies.

Works with databases, including those related to travel demand, transportation system conditions, as well as land uses and major trip generators.

Works in a team environment to prepare reports summarizing analysis findings and methodologies. Prepares supporting tables and maps.

Supports mid-level and senior staff in preparing analysis summaries for presentation at public meetings/workshops and attends such meetings as necessary.

Supports general document management tasks including photocopying, scanning, electronic and hard copy file transfer and filing.

Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

4-year degree in Transportation Planning or related field and1-3 years experience desirable.

Computer literacy in the software packages typically used in transportation planning and traffic engineering is required.

Strong writing and verbal skills required.

Knowledge of basic programming, as well as GIS, is a plus.
