Parsons is now hiring an experienced Civil Engineerin Washington, DC with a desire to work on rail and transit projects that change the urban fabric of our community.
Work with the Capital Planning and Program Management team of a major transit agency to review plans and designs to determine if they meet all applicable Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements, as well as additional accessibility standards that may exceed the ADA.
Perform reviews of engineering designs for projects as assigned.
Attest to whether an assigned design meets all ADA Title II and Title III standards and guidelines.
Where designs don’t meet ADA standards, specifically state why the design does not meet the standards.
Understand and apply additional accessibility standards that may exceed ADA standards to engineering design reviews.
Submit and document recommendations that would enhance the accessibility of the designs.
4-yeardegree in Civil Engineering (or Transportation Engineering) and 5-10 years ofrelated work experience.
Professionalengineering license is required.
Proficiencyin utilizing CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with engineeringis preferred.
Has expertise in accessible design.
Ableto review civil engineering drawings and calculations to determine whetherproposed drawings, designs, and site plans are compliant with the ADA.
Ableto propose workable and useable accessible design solutions.
Excellentwritten, verbal communication, and presentation skills.
Proficiencyin Microsoft Office products.
