Parsons is now hiring the Engineering Design Team Lead for our rapidly expanding Federal Business Unit to support the U.S. Army Engineering and Support Center, Huntsville’s Electronic Security Center (ESC) in Huntsville, AL.

In this role you will be the Functional Lead for all Security Engineering staff, reporting to the Federal Group Engineering Manager. You will be primarily assigned to lead and support the Electronic Security Systems Projects.

Our ideal candidate will be based out of Huntsville, AL., however working out of Washington DC, Richmond, V.A., Centreville, V.A., and Remote is possible. PE is required. Proof of US Citizenship is required.

Duties may include:

  • Integrating the various engineering, scheduling, procurement, construction, and start-up aspects of a large, complex project or study in accordance with contractual obligations.

  • May manage a subtask of a significantly large and complex project or study in accordance with contractual obligations.

  • Responsible for the technical excellence of the engineering functions of the project, including coordination of technical disciplines, procurement of materials and equipment, and construction planning assistance.

  • Previous project engineering experience is a prerequisite for this position.

  • Travel will be required to support project needs.

Other Requirements:

• Technical proposal development – Assist with responding to RFPs, provide oversight to the technical approach, design direction and pricing

• Proposal development - Produce technical response in proposal

• Lead in the preparation of design drawings

• Bill of material/Pricing Estimates

• Product research

• System design and integration across systems

• Knowledgeable in the UFGS specifications as applied to government security systems and their installation

Technical Requirements:

• Knowledge of security technologies including but not limited to:

• Video Surveillance and related technologies

• Access Control and related technologies

• Physical intrusion detection

• Ability to apply UFGS specifications requirements to security design drawings

• Physical security information management

• IP based video, access control, and intercom systems

• TCP/IP networking design knowledge

Qualifications:

• Ability to communicate orally and in writing fluently in the English language

• Ability to read and understand technical drawings and blueprints

• Ability to create and/or modify technical drawings in various formats

• Self-motivated and focused and able to work as part of a team

• Excellent customer relationship skills

• Ability to convey technical issues simply and accurately

• Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook and the ability to use search engines effectively

Certifications :

Desired security or CCTV manufacturer certificates such as Lenel, Argus, Software House, Hirsch-Identiv, Vindicator, Open Options, GALAXY™, AMAG, DAQ, Pelco, Bosch, Axis, etc. are a plus.

Clearance:

Current or the ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance

Proof of US Citizenship Required.

PE License Required

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics Technology or similar is required

  • Minimum 15+ years of related field engineering experience required

  • Proven track record of success designing security systems required. Government facilities highly preferred.

  • Previous supervisory experience in a project engineering role is required

  • PE License is required

  • Proof of US Citizenship is required

  • Proven ability to perform in a supervisory capacity required

  • Excellent written and oral communications skills required

  • Thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations are required. Experience and proficiency with ICD 705 highly preferred.

  • Must also possess a thorough knowledge of current technology and be able to select and apply appropriate engineering software for use on project.

Certifications :
