Parsons is hiring an Office Engineer with transportation background working to provide management coordination and controls consistent with both project and operational needs. Responsibilities include:
Maintains full familiarity with plans, specifications, construction schedules, contractor's plans on assigned contracts, the Adjacent Construction Project Manual, JDAC/ATOC Procedures, and current safety regulations relative to assigned projects in order to be knowledgeable of the contractor's obligations and Project Manager's responsibilities;
Disseminates information to office and field staff and internal stakeholder offices as required to keep all pertinent Authority personnel accurately informed of relevant matters;
Establishes and maintains job record files for assigned projects per instructions contained in the Project Implementation Manual;
Reviews contractor's Critical Path Method or bar chart progress schedules as applicable and maintains current, marked-up copies of such schedules;
Coordinates schedule and progress reviews with Scheduling Engineers, contractor representatives, Project Manager, and others as required;
Prepares and distributes schedule and progress reports based upon projected and actual completion dates for assigned contracts;
Updates data in the PROCORE system through direct input of contract related information or up-loading other data files;
Verify technical documents for the client's project record, including as-built plans, drawings and schematics that have been submitted by the contractor;
Assists construction inspectors and contractor's representatives in clarification of contract drawings and specifications relative to assigned contracts;
Assists the Project Manager in reviewing contractor's claims determining merit of claims and negotiating cost and /or time adjustments based upon such claims;
Prepares change orders and contract modifications in accordance with established procedures;
Assists Estimating Engineers in preparing cost and/or time estimates for pending change orders and contract modifications;
Reviews and processes contractor's submittal of shop and working drawings and material samples and distributes as required;
Returns contractor's submittal to the contractor with appropriate comments and approval status;
Disseminates information pertaining to the contractor's submittal to the field staff, as required;
Monitors and maintains contract logs with distribution of documents between Contractor and client staff for compliance with contract time commitments;
Coordinates the collection of daily inspection reports from field inspectors and records lost time for the contractor;
Reconciles the lost time with reports from the D/B;
Submits daily logs in a timely manner through the client's Procore system;
Performs other project related duties as assigned by the client's Task Manager.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field;
In lieu of a degree, a minimum of seven (7) years of work experience in related field, of which two (2) years shall be in the transportation industry;
A minimum of three (3) years of experience in design, construction, or major repair/rehabilitation teams for infrastructure projects;
Demonstrated experience in a fast-paced engineering environment;
Excellent verbal/written communication skills, and strong technical writing skills;
Proficient in MS Office Suite, AutoCAD and ProCore.
