Job Description:
In this role you will be engaged in drainage design engineering work. You will prepare and review drawings for final design, construction, detour, and erosion control and prepare and review design reports. This position can be hired at a more experienced level as well ! These positions can be based in either Washington, DC, Baltimore, or Centreville. Opportunity : Principal Drainage Engineer
In this role, you will act as the primary interface with internal design teams and take a lead role in all Drainage/Hydrology aspects of the project with the clients and our JV partners
As a principal in our organization you will help PMs in executing projects across the state and help us identify new opportunities to expand our Drainage practice.
Will perform drainage and hydrology design and review of culvert systems for roadways inclusive of slope elevations and calculations
You will be responsible for overseeing the civil design team’s technical deliverables and meeting project schedules from design through construction. Using your technical expertise, you will ensure the highest quality of engineering is put forth to meet all design criteria requirements. Our Principal Engineers stay technically hands-on throughout the life of the project, managing the project through final execution. We expect you to identify new opportunities within your current project.
Provides support for other engineering activities as required. May supervise one or more subordinates and provide input regarding performance.
May be assigned to a project or organizational team, or as a lead engineer for a specific discipline on a small to intermediate-size project.
Provides input and technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers and other engineers working on the same project Requirements :
4-year degree in Civil Engineering (or related field)
15+ years or more of related work experience in Drainage/Hydrology design, including project management or supervisory/managerial experience of engineers, and designers.
Interest and the ability to function as a leadership capacity
Professional Engineer (PE) registration is required.
Experience directing work involving complex technical situations
Excellent written and oral communications skills
Experience with VA/MD/DC clients is required .
Proficiency in utilizing AutoCAD Civil3D, Micro Station Geopak and/or InRoads

Salary Range:
$92,200.00 - $161,400.00
